Right side fold, awesome

Written on Jan 27, 2025

I originally bought this to try on my Freedom Ordnance FX-9 SBR. The problem with the FX-9 is that the receiver is shorter than a standard AR lower receiver and makes the use of any folding stock adapter very uncomfortable due to the closer distance from the back of the trigger opening to the rear of the receiver. I tried the Law Tactical and the hinge pin housing on the left side would rip the skin off my thumb knuckle and making it difficult to manipulate the safety. Seeing that the Sylvan was hinged on the right side, and a good price, I thought this might be a viable option. The Sylvan was better, but the QD swivel socket is located at the thumb knuckle and makes it uncomfortable again. If the QD swivel weren't there it might be a great option for an FX-9 folder.
I did end up using it on an EPC-9 AR pistol and really like it. The installation gave me a little trouble only because of the KAK two stage buffer and flat spring in the EPC-9. I like the right side fold very much and the lock up is solid. There is a detent that holds the stock folded very nicely. The QD swivel socket on the left could be used with the regular lower receiver dimension. I like the fact that Sylvan has used steel in the areas that need a more wear resistant material such as the latch catch. Time will tell how it holds up, but so far I like it.

Quality muzzle brake

I own several of the Griffin Armament gallery mount muzzle brakes. Highly recommend for your suppressor.

Nice glass and love the fire wire dot

Written on Sep 16, 2024

This is my second Primary Arms LPVO scope. I have to say that I was a little skeptical of the Nova site fire wire until I had one in my hands. I love the reticle and I really love the fire wire red dot, it is very bright and precise. It's going on my 350 Legend deer pistol. Highly recommend this scope.

Great trigger after>>>>

Written on Sep 04, 2024

Great trigger after I worked out the burrs from the trigger pivot pin and trigger.

Great trigger. . . . After a quick fix

Written on Aug 19, 2024

I received this trigger in quick order, it was packaged very nicely and looked to be of great build quality. But after unpack-aging I tried to manipulate the trigger and it was very stiff, to the point of not working. I had to take out the trigger pivot pin, rather had to punch it out to find there were burrs on the pin and the trigger pivot hole. I cleaned up the pin with some emery cloth and cleaned the trigger pivot hole then lubed and reinstalled. After having to clean up the burrs and debris it functions great and the pull and break are amazing. I considered sending it back after I found it to be non-functioning but I knew it would take a couple more weeks and just wanted the trigger for my deer gun build. This one got by the quality control section of manufacturing but didn't take much to fix.

Great concept

Written on Jul 10, 2024

I bought this for my Freedom Ordnance FX9 pistol/SBR hoping to get the delayed roller lock benefit. It is not made to fit an FX9. Given that it didn't fit my particular application, I must say the build quality was exceptional. I had to return it of course.

Great Product Although FX9 Issue

Written on Jul 05, 2024

I purchased this RBD system with hope that it would work in my Freedom Ordnance FX9 pistol. The quality of craftsmanship was excellent and fit was fine, but in testing I found out that it didn't allow the FX9 bolt to fully travel without the rod head slamming i to the firing pin. The bolt would not go back far enough to use the bolt hold open stop and the rod head of the RBD was slamming into the firing pin causing some minor damage to the firing pin. I reached out to Maxim about this and they are looking into it. But in the meantime I am returning the RBD as it will not function as is in a Freedom Ordnance FX9 weapon.

Great addition to my AR10

Written on Feb 14, 2024

When I built my AR10 I used a collapsible stock thinking I would like the ability to change the LOP when wearing heavy winter clothes. I ended up not liking the collapsible stock and decided to use a fixed stock. I saw these at a great price and decided to pull the trigger and order one. I received my stock in a timely manner, although I believe spending the extra money for the upgraded shipping is well worth it. The stock is very well made and fit my Palmetto receiver like it should. Stock looks great and feels great on the shoulder. Highly recommend if you're looking for a bargain stock.

Improved feel over stock trigger

Written on Nov 13, 2023

I purchased the Timney Alpha trigger to install in my Glock G40 MOS to use for deer hunting. The installation went okay, had a bit of a problem fitting the housing and getting the anchor screw to seat properly, but finally got it. The feel is much smoother but no distinct stages or at least not to me. It did help with my tendencies to pull the pistol laterally on small targets. I wish there were some kind of trigger stop built into the trigger, that's my biggest complaint about it. I did fashion a trigger bar stop against the frame to help with over-travel and that helped my shots tremendously. Overall, I'm happy with it especially at the price of $99. Although I wish they had some kind of trigger over-travel adjustment from the factory
