I purchased this for an AR-10 build. Adjustable cheek piece (comb) interferes with charging handle, even lowered all the way. In an SHTF, you're not going to want to be bothering with baby-ing your charging handle to get over the lip. You'll have the rest of your life to think about how you should've ditched what amounts to an over-priced malfunction producer. It's about 1/8" to high.
Other reviews are correct that it needs to be matched to a buffer tube. What good is an adjustable cheek piece if you have to take it up and put it down for every time you have to use the charging handle. THAT little issue would probably be tolerable, but since it catches even when it's down, it's a no-go from me.
For $150, it would seem like it would come with a QD sling mount built in. Not quite. Need to buy their part and screw your own it. Not bad, I guess because it allows you to designate which side of the stock you want it on, but...you gotta pay another $25-$30 for the pieces. They don't come with it. Understandable, but...I am doing another build. May keep this one and take the adjustable comb off. Or I'll get something else.
Comb gets in the way if you want to work the charging handle unless the setting is all the way down on carbine version for 308. Don't see how it could be any different for 5.56. So first have to charge the chamber...then can make comb adjustment.
Good idea. Not practical. Can live with it for long range shooting. But...
I have about medium-sized hands. Creates a really uncomfortable spot in my palm. Not rubbery. Hard plastic. The palm bulge makes the most comfortable grip a bit "unnatural" for my ergonomics. Would probably be a really good product if it were rubberized.
Like all Luth-AR equipment, they tell you a lot about what it can do... They don't tell you the most important details. Like for example that there is no way to sling this buttstock without buying an additional $25 part.
Their customer service was helpful enough and the solution was reasonable enough. However, for a piece of this price range, if they can't include a built-in QD mount...they they could at least tell you you'll need one...so you can get it all in one order.
Have had similar problems with other Luth-AR products.
There are longer reviews posted here. Great optic for the money. Easy to use. Holds zero well. Durable and takes a beating.
Only drawback is that the MOA "clicks" don't exist. You won't feel/hear good solid clicks on MOA adjustments. That said, it holds zero well enough that once you zero it, it won't matter. Does not require frequent adjustment if you have purpose-built platforms. But if you're one who tries to utilize the same platform across a lot of different zero ranges with a red dot, this will frustrate.
Battery life is WAY better than EOTECH. Had a forty-hour training week. My buddies changed EOTECH batteries twice that week. I have put near 200 hours on the batteries and still haven't changed on. Solar option is great for this.
