I have become a fan of Holosun over the past few yrs but this is the only model that ever gave me an issue, my fault though for not having battery cover fully tightened down, it was shutting off during initial zeroing in. The 7075 housing is great but I purchased this model for the extras, caps and kill flash. The QD mount is good but I did have an American Defense 1/3 QD laying around so I swapped it out. This model does have a shine on the finish, I taped off the glass and used some Flat black spray paint and it was good to go. The only downside to the Holosun brand other than being maid in China (20% chance there may an issue out of the box) and the water rating but what can you expect for 300 duckies..I am not swimming across a river with it and the 1 meter rating at 30 min is good for my needs. The green reticle is by far better than the red IMO, I can pick the green up much better even against foliage. I do have a minor astigmatism, the reticle is clear to me but on higher settings gets a star burst look on the dot, who runs around with their dot set above 10 anyway. I run mine on 5-7 most of the time. The shake awake feature is awsome as is the 50K hr battery life on 50% power. I have my original ACSS red reticle HS optic still running on the first battery and its been 3 yrs since purchase, to be fare though I have it set up on a rifle that I don't take out much but still.

Great Forearm. Titusville production model came with three 11 rib covers. Fit with no issues over a Colt SOCOM barrel and is rock solid. Used this to replace a Troy Battle Comp quad rail on an otherwise all Colt upper to increase its value. Not that there is anything wrong with the Troy, it's a great product as well and is 100 bucks cheaper. Just wanted to make mine a accurate representation of a factory issued M4 upper w/RAS quad rail.

I love these Criterion barrels. This is the second Hybrid version I have purchased. I have not built it up just yet but from my first 16" Hybrid mid barrel free floated build I can give you a review. These are real accurate out of the gate and love the heavier grain projectiles. It can achieve sub moa at 100yds with good ammo no problem. The hybrid profile reduces weight and keeps the rigidity of a hbar for accuracy. These are also used by the USMC combat shooting team so what else can I say, Semper Fi. Good enough for the Corp is good enough for me.

This handgaurd gives you the ability to add whatever you want on the fore grip. Rails are included. It has a slimmer profile than the standard grip which personally do not like but if you add the rails and rail covers it will beef it back up. It also has the the built in sling swivel attachments on both sides, nice touch. The internal heat shields are also very good. Now for the bad, this will not fit a side folder. I purchased this for my Arsenal 104 full stock side folder and the corner of the the fore grip by the QD swivel mount interferes with the stock not allowing it to lock in. I assume you could Bubba it up to fit if you want. The good news is, I have an old Century fixed stock Sporter 74 to use this with but have not had a chance to install it on yet.

Overall Aero makes nice Equipment. I have the 15, 12 and now a 9 inch model. Goes great with the M4E1 upper or any upper for that matter if you get the corresponding barrel nut (10-20 bucks extra) the one thing I have noticed is there is some play well slop in the guard when you first install prior to tightening up to the reciever (M4E1 that does not use standard barrel nut) generally I sight in these with a 1/3rd co-witness red dot then loosen the guard as to get a better sight alignment with the backup's and use blue loctite to secure in the screws. Initially prior to figuring this out my rear backup sight was almost maxed out to the left. Like I said these have a significant amount of play until you get them tightened up and secure. Also recommend getting upgraded Steel screws to replace the ones it comes with as they will strip out easily especially if you loctite them, Ebay for $6 a bag of 20 or your fav hardware store.

Luth has upped their manufacturing, this newer model has the m4 feed ramps and is milled to spec, the barrel nut lines up perfect to the bolt (they had issues in the past) and all parts fit as expected. I personally prefer the A1 vs A2 carry sights and used this for an CAR15 clone build, turned out great.

So what we have here is a smaller better designed combo from the ugly big knob'ed older model not to mention the blah. Upon first impressions this is a handy little combo. Light has three modes not counting off. The Nav setting is a nice touch, not to bright, perfect for getting to a stand without lighting up the entire world. The strob is also a nice touch along with the high beam that can really light up a room. To change light functions it is on the lens shroud, just twist and it sets in with an positive click. The laser is also bright, with nice positive clicks. The knobs are protected but it is possible to turn them with a bump or two in the right spot. Comes with a remote pad but I didn't use it due to I mounted it on the bottom rail and my index finger can operate if using a fore grip, not so much when I remove the handle and just go straight handguard though. The only negatives I can really find are if you mount it on top and have a FSB the light will be partially covered by it and reflect back some, the laser clears fine though. The other issue is it it too easy to turn on with either of the light or laser buttons, just bumping a button on a peice of gear or sling could turn it on, not good if in a covert op environment but for home defense or screwing around at the range should not be much of an issue. They should have been recessed some. Other than that this is a cool piece and out of the cheaper, not $1k choices out there this is the one I would recommend. F

Reason for 4 is I'm pretty sure I got a floor model. Finger prints all over the glass and a tiny ding in the finish. Also did not realize that OP uses 3rd party suppliers like Amazon does, it shipped from a "Green mt supplies" or something like that. Well all that aside it was on sale and I got some extra % off with a coupon and cleaned up nice so.... The OD green coating is looks awesome next to Magpul OD furniture. The green reticle is easier for me to pick up and I don't lose it in green vegetation like others have stated on other sites so it must be based on the individuals eye sight really... The horseshoe reticle I really like, I works great as a CQB out to 200 if you zero it correctly at 100. The BDC starts at 300 out to 800, the lines are fine and crisp. The center dot I can't find any moa info on but it basically covers a 2x2 bull at 50 yrds so a 4 moa dot I would guess. Positive clicks on the dials all that good jazz.
