Most Helpful Positive Review QUICK & EASY:
It's my opinion that the Wheeler Armorer's Handgun Sight-Tool gives you all you need to remove, adjust & install gun-sights on most all Semi-Automatic Handguns. It's a heavy, well designed and well built tool, plus it's quick and easy tool to setup, adjust and use. For me, this tool will pay for i...

Most Helpful Negative Review Does not hold the slide tight enough if the sight if difficult to move
If the sight is difficult to move the slide will begin to cant as pressure is applied as the pusher does not hold the slide in a completely rigid position. It needs “shoe” like to ones used with the MGW sight pusher to assure that the slide will not cant. Probably will work if sight does not requir...

Worth every penny!!!

by NJ Steel, Verified Owner from NJ, United States Written on December 7, 2025
I never write reviews but I felt I had to write this one. I changed my Glock sights with extreme ease. I didn’t even have to tape up the slide and the equipment did not cause any scratches to my slide. I was amazed at how well and fast this worked. Definitely feel the quality. I will now be saving a ton of money by no longer having to go to the smith to change any of my handgun sights. Sight tool will pay for itself. Worth every penny.
Pros:
  • easy of use
  • Professional
  • Strength & Fit
  • Qualify of design, machining and materials
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • iron sight

Poor quality control

by Stan M., Verified Owner from OH, United States Written on October 29, 2025
I bought this last year. When i finally got around to using it, I learned that the vertical adjustment was not threaded. That center bolt was loose and served no purpose. This unit should never have left their shop. I worked around it for the past year, but finally bought another brand and tossed the Wheeler in the trash.

Works great on my Sig and 1911

by Greg, Verified Owner from TN, United States Written on October 8, 2025
Finally, a quality tool. It takes a little work and experimenting to learn to set up your receiver the first time, but once you get it, you got it. Had a Sig and sights ruined in the past. Masking tape your receiver well. It pressed my Sig dovetails off and on easily. No filing or sanding. Everything just has to aligned properly and removed from left to right and installed right to left.
Pros:
  • Works great , great fitment , great quality , no issues or problems at all.
Cons:
  • None

Works fantastic for Sigs

by Greg, Verified Owner from TN, United States Written on October 6, 2025
It's cheaper than when I bought it, but this is the pretty easy and works great for 1911s, Sig, etc, with pressed sights. You need to masking tape your slide, read the instructions 3 times and then be patient learning to set up your slide and adjust just right. After the first time, it's really easy and obvious for the next time. I paid to have mine installed, by an idiot I now know, with a crappy universal tool. Ruined my sights, scratched my pistol and all I got was sorry. I consider myself only half an idiot and I managed without destroying anything. Once you understand how to use it, you can actually make extra cash installing a few to pay for the tool. They usually install from right to left in my experience. I didn't have to sand or file to get them started.
Pros:
  • Works great
  • Preserves your pistol finish
  • Heavy-duty, extremely adjustable
  • Must have for dovetail, pressed sights
Cons:
  • I sold mine and have to buy another
Best Used for:
  • 1911s, Sigs, HK, etc, with dovetail, pressed sights

High Quality Sight Tool

by Barndog1, Verified Owner from KY, United States Written on August 20, 2025
This sight adjusting tool was purchased to adjust the sights of a S&W Bodyguard 2.0 .380 pistol. The tool is made to high quality standards. The instructions for its use were easy to understand and follow. The sight adjuster was used to adjust the front sight which was not installed to center at the S&W factory. The sight tool satisfactorily moved the front sight to the center of the receiver just as described in the included instructions. I am very pleased with the performance of the tool and its ease of use. The price of this tool was well worth the satisfaction of having the pistol shoot to the point of aim. I highly recommend this sight adjusting tool to those needing a high quality, easy to operate.tool that will get the job done.

It is a big chunk

by Szumi, Verified Owner from MI, United States Written on July 30, 2025
I bought it to move the sights on my S&W Bodyguard 2.0 . Those sights are incredibly tight.
The round puck that holds down the slide just barely bridges the ejection port. On a bigger gun the port would likely not be under the puck. Btw, the puck was missing the 4mm setscrew that holds it in place. I printed a puck that fits my pistol better cause I can.

The first time I tried to move the front sight I had to really torque on this and when the sight moved I heard a snap and thought I broke something. When the sight moved, it moved a lot. Some of the weaker looking pushers I saw would likely have stripped out on me.

In the manual it advises to put some load on the sight and tap on the pusher with a hammer in hard cases like mine. Also mentions wrapping contact points with masking tape. I used blue painters tape since I had a roll handy.

I opened up the pusher unit to see what the cross screw is pushing against. There are brass thrust bearings at each end. While I was in there I noticed some anodizing scraped off. Inspection of the cross nut found a big burr that was digging into the housing. The burr filed away easily as the nut is mild steel. You may want to do your own QA.
Pros:
  • Sturdy
Cons:
  • POOR QA

Bought this to drift the factory rear sight back onto my onto my tanfoglio stock 1. I had removed the rear sight to put on a dot plate but didn't much care for it so I wanted a reliable way to get the factory sight back on without damaging it. This tool worked great for this application

It is so so in quality.

by Jarhead, Verified Owner from OH, United States Written on June 28, 2025
The quality is ok. The reason for three stars is it is critical the force used the sight is perpendicular to the slide. This is difficult on the tool as the bottom casting ruler is visibly off. I'm on the fence if I'd buy another as you would think that would be checked before sale. All threads besides the jack screw are also wobbly and not straight. The actual pusher part seems OK so it is usable.

Expected it to work better, broke tip of front sight

by Nate, Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on June 17, 2025
Bought it to change out the factory sights on my Springfield XDM to TruGlo TFX Pro Sights. During rear sight removal I noticed the sight block on the tool would twist and didn't keep flat pressure on the sight, it took a lot of force to get out as it only applies pressure to the top of the sight and not pushing in the dove tail. While trying to remove the front sight it broke the top of the sight off and I ended up having to drift the remaining part of the sight out. I did have to prestart the new sights before pressing them in, no issues after that. I did have some marring on the slide after it was finished. The tool does work to a point, but I would like to see some sort of dovetail attachment to provide a more even pressure.
