I won't comment on the nature of it's effect on sound, sound direction and recoil, etc. I will leave that to you to consider. The item is designed to thread into the endcap threads of the suppressor. You remove the endcap and install the cap on the end of the E-Brake that is seen in the photo. The square sided and knurled surface on the back of the E-Brake in the photo is NOT part of the E-Brake but rather that is the tool needed to remove the endcap from your suppressor and install it on the end of the E-Brake. It has four pins to fit into your endcap. The rear of the E-Brake looks to be clos...

It is what it is and does what it does.

by Joe, Verified Owner from OH, United States Written on July 5, 2024
Good quality product. threads on and off smoothly, no hangups. I will say that the coating inst The greatest. Its a little blotchy in some areas, I can see some obvious machine marks all around the outside. But I plan on using it, so it'll get dirty/scratched/banged up anyway. If I really want to cover it up I'll just rattle can it like everything else. It does improve the sound, and does compensate a little, nothing crazy, but then again it inst made to be a dedicated compensator/break. perceived opinion
Pros:
  • better perceived sound suppression
  • does compensate a bit
  • looks cool (in my humble opinion)
Cons:
  • coating could be a little better

Effective in Reducing Muzzle Rise

by EddieV, Verified Owner from VA, United States Written on January 6, 2024
I put the E-brake on a Sandman S attached to an AR-10 (.308 Win) rifle. This rifle also has an adjustable gas block tuned for suppressor use. The E-brake certainly reduced muzzle rise and recoil using a bench rest at 50 yards.

The rifle was also easier to shoot using the rifle’s backup red dot sight, which is canted 45 degrees off the rifle’s right side, and the stock is not in the normal shoulder pocket. However, the muzzle rise was non-existent and the rounds hit where they were aimed.
Pros:
  • softens felt recoil
Cons:
  • None

You Need This

by Kyle J, Verified Owner from IN, United States Written on September 23, 2023
If you have a sandman then you need this. Amazing add on that actually lowers sound tone slightly and creates a smooth gas ejection. 20 second install and highly recommended by experts in the industry. Comes with a removal tool for the end caps too so saves you $30 of adding that separately.
Pros:
  • Less recoil
Cons:
  • Adds length
Best Used for:
  • Sandman suppressors

Plastic Bag?

by Detroit Mag, from MI, United States Written on September 22, 2022
This isn’t what I was expecting. First DA ships this in a plastic bag, nothing else. Second it does not look like it fastens on the suppressor in a way that I’d be confident it isn’t going to dislodge. There are no threads for securing it to the suppressor, only pegs like a caliber cap. I’m sorry I didn’t do better research. They actually describe using this in a probe position to mitigate blast dust while lying in dirt, but it’s so long I’d be worried it will fall off long before you ever get to test it in adverse conditions.
Pros:
  • None
Cons:
  • No different than a caliber cap
