Ur Moma's Review of EOTech Model 558 Holographic Weapon Sight

The optic will quickly show you if you have near sighted vision. From using computers my phones, I have never been a fan of glasses, but currently I am using +1.25 computer blue light filter glasses to help my -1.50 nearsighted vision.

Best way to describe the optic is a fuzzy doughnut, it looks like I am focusing on an object less than a foot away or my hand in front of the optic with my nearsighted vision.

With corrected glasses the optic is extremely crisp and bright. It’s literally a laser shinning into your eyes. This optic is the best for night vision. Has multiple day and night vision settings.

The optic will eat away alkaline batteries, leaving its corrosive acid if you do not take them out. Probably better with lithium or Ni-Cd reachable batteries. This will happen after weeks or under 3 months if left alone.

AA are more plentiful and why I went with this model. The QD system is robust, but possibly wanting the Unity Fast Riser with the flip-up magnifier would make it less desirable. I had no problem with the optic turning off with recoil or shifting.

The main housing is actually a combination of durable black plastic and aluminium.

Holographic sights are the best for fast shooting times, but with my eye vision I am looking into the VCOG or ACOG or Accupoint from Trijicon with fiber optics.

Personally wanting Meprolight M21 fiber optic red dot in the future. Not requiring electronic or batteries and technically always on.

Highly recommend visiting gun store or shop to see optics in person. You will learn much more quickly than online or on YouTube.
