Loose Tolerances
Very well machined & finished, lightweight, aesthetically pleasing. So, why am I giving it 3 stars? The barrel extension to receiver fit is very loose. Fortis Upper Reciever
well made, solid upper receiver with a billet aluminum gas to insert that holds the gas tube insert snug. Great looking upper and nice cerakote job!

Fortis stripped upper
Great finish very high quality workmanship high price follows but you do get what you pay for haven't installed on an upper yet probably use it with 223 wylde barrel for a woodchuck gun .

barrel fitment was to loose
Its a beautiful upper, great lines aesthetically pleasing. However with an FN CHF barrel it slips right on in and even has slight play, i expect a tight fit requiring some anti sieze or heat to get a tight snug fitment. However this isnt it, i dont know if i should even try shimming for go through the hassle of a return and just use aero precisions M4E1 line for less money but way better fit.

Will not fit Geissele rails
This receiver looks nice and it is something I wish I could use but it doesn't fit Geissele Mk4, Mk8, or Mk14 rails at all. The barrel fit is loose and jiggly tried faxon and ballistic so this receiver is junk that I have to return.looks

For my first rifle build, a good friend recommended
getting a Fortis upper. Parts are hard to come by these days. Thankfully Optics Planet had some available! Alhough Covid-19 is screwing up deliveries for everywhere, it arrived ahead of the quoted time.

Really impressed with the quality of this billet upper. You can tell the manufacturing and finish of this part is top notch, especially when compared to other parts I’ve ordered recently. There isn’t much availability these days so I took a chance since it was in stock at Optics Planet and I’m pleased with my purchase.

Fortis upper
Great upper! Used it on a 2A armament billet lower and it's perfect. It's sleek, it's solid, and took the 16 criterion middy very snug. Worth the money. It is a billet and gunsmith had to do very slight tooling for the geissele rail to be installed

Fortis billet upper
Great fit and finish. Installed easily and when the barrel was installed it was true. No spacers needed. Make sure you use a billet lower for best results. Tried it on a forged lower and needed an acuwedge to tighten up the fit.
