I purchased for use with my SA mil-spec 1911. I found that it is a little tight for a full size 1911. However my surplus Star BM was a perfect fit. If I had a "beat-up" 1911, I wouldn't hesitate to force it in the holster but I just didn't want to take a chance of scuffing the finish of my new .45. Overall though, I'm satisfied with my purchase.

I purchased the Galco TAC Slide holster for range use with my 1911. It is a little snug, but fills the bill just fine. Because of the "generic" nature of the 1911 style, I've found that it will accommodate other pistols as well, such as my Star BM.
Cons:
- muzzle exposed so cc is not an option

I purchased this for a full size mil-spec 1911. The holster is very tight, to the point that I feel it may mar the finish of the firearm. however, when I used it for a smaller "micro" size 1911, it fit just fine. The holster is just for range use, so I'll use it for ATI or RIA branded 1911s. That way if the finish is effected it's no big deal. Overall, good quality, just that, this one, is a little on the tight side.

I purchased this holster for my 3in 1911 45. I never liked plastic holsters. This one has a leather
band next to your body. After carying it for a month I came to the conclusion that it is one if the most
comfortable holster I own. It rides high but holds the gun tight against the body. Conceals the gun very well.
It is my GO TO holster now. HA plastic, go figure.

I love this holster. It is quick to put on, retention is outstanding. It rides the gun high, so concealment is a little tougher than with a IWB like the Galco Kingtuk, but it shines when super-deep concealment is not required. Camping, BBQs or just around the house, I use this holster. I have many Galco holsters and can say that they are top quality at a reasonable price.

I use the holster for my XD 9 and my Taurus 145. So I have the choice of 17 rounds of 9mm or 11 rounds of 45.
Pros: Fits tight to the body and is comfortable to wear
Cons: Needs forward cant for better concealability
