Great comfort for larger frame revolver. The belt loop design allows tight fit with no “hip pinching”. High ride makes for easy all day carrying. Only slight downside is the leather safety strap has to be removed with two fingers, as apposed to most modern thumb straps. Just takes a little practice. Fast shipping, great customer service.

Galco has always made quality holsters. Problem is, some are hard to find. I have a S & W model 627 pro series, which is 8 rounds. Normally revolvers are 6. Some 5. Spent a lot of time looking for this holster with no luck. Manufacturer has it, but it's a bit pricey buying that way, plus you have to pay shipping. Along came opticsplanet and there it was. At a cost no one could come close too. And free shipping. Now opticsplanet has one less. This is another product I never thought opticsplanet would have. From this day forward, I will go directly to opticsplanet first. Thanks for having the right stuff.

I bought this holster because I'm left handed and needed a cross draw option with an Uberti 6" 44magnum.
The finish is nice and even and the leather is smooth. Brass, stitching, and edges are clean and well executed.
The holster was a very tight fit for the uberti, a loose fit on a single six, and impossible on a Blackhawk without days of stretching. Therefore I would say that it's perfect for SAA replicas and New Vaqueros. The hammer thing needs a bit of stretching and practice for quick draw, but the instructions mention this. The best part of this holster is how easily you can remove the pistol to enter a gun free area. The "holster" part removes with just one snap and the belt slide stays on your belt. I have now driven hundreds of miles with a 6" revolver in cross draw and never experienced discomfort. Quick drawing needs to be practiced as this is a tight holster and slow to draw and reholster.

Bought two of these, one for my Super Blackhawk 44 and one for my Blackhawk 45LC. Used them both and so far I am impressed. Haven't experienced any weakness where the belt feeds through. I think these are very affordable holsters that work great!

Holster is well made, and fits my Ruger KRH-444 perfectly. Holster was a little tight at first, but using the tips in the instructions, I got a perfect fit for my gun. There are only 2 or 3 holsters made that fit my Ruger Redhawk in 44mag. with 4" barrel and this one is just right.

Ordered a custom holster from another source for my new Judge 3" 2/12" cylinder and it did not fit.
In searching came across this holster on Optics Planet with associated good reviews. Tried it and it fits like a glove. It is also ambidextrous as I needed a left handed model. Would work well for either right or left hand and secures the revolver very well. Do a lot of riding with pistol on ATV in the woods and needed a secure holster.
Love it!
Pros:
- excellent workmanship
- Good price point
Best Used for:
- open fields or open range
- Open Carry (if you're into that sort of thing)

I have a SW 629 V comp which is listed as a 4" barrel, however with the comp installed is somewhere between 4 and 5. This holster works great for my intended purpose. Good quality well thought out design.
Although not a holster for concealed carry, lets face it neither is the revolver. The holster does ride high and tight and would conceal in the winter with a heavy jacket or vest.

This holster was a perfect fit for my Rossi 971 357/38 with 4" barrel. The inside is smooth and the revolver fit with absolutely no break in. The holster is a high ride and keeps the rig well concealed with a sweatshirt or light jacket. The hammer thong needed a short break in period but now fits very well. I use the holster cross draw and can unholster very easily. This is a very good method of carry for a K frame revolver.
Pros:
- good price
- Good fit
- high ride
- easily removed from belt
Best Used for:
- k frame revolver with 4" barrel

An excellent product that performs as advertised. Galco value at good price point. For the other reviewers complaining about retention strap not fitting; did they read and follow the instructions enclosed with holster ? Using the " twist and pull method " as directed in instructions the strap fit over the hammer of S & W 686- 4 " barrel and holds gun in place as intended.
Pros:
- Price, performance and warranty

It's a great concept - an ambidextrous holster. The strap with the belt loops that secures the holster is a little on the flimsy side. A heavy revolver like a Redhawk, N frame Smith put a lot of stress on the belt loops causing the holster to begin leaning away from the body at the top. I found a longer belt and threaded the belt on the outside of the holster which helped. The belt holes need to be reinforced. Outside of that, it's a great holster.
Pros: Rides high, comfortable, works for cross draw
Cons: Belt loops too easiily stressed with heavy revolver.
