Most Helpful Negative Review Design defect
Will not line up with windage point of aim. Even while retracted and laying flat against the Picatinny rail, it requires almost full deflection of windage to center it on the rail. A design or manufacturing defect. My other iron sights are fairly straight on this rifle. Nice idea, I was enthused. Disappointed it is flawed. If they fix it I would love to get another one.

Poorly Designed and No Support

by Beans, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on March 26, 2022
Zero stars.

I’ll be brief about the lack of support. GG&G never responded to my 2 emails or phone calls. Lifetime warranty? Not if GG&G never responds or picks up the phone. Save your money. There are much better rear sights for equal $$$ and much less.
Listed are rear sights I’ve experienced recently.
KAC Micro USMC, MagPul Pro, Daniel Defense, Scalarworks Peak, Midwest Combat Folding, Griffin Armament M2 and even the MagPul MBUS Gen2 poly sights are a much better option.

I’ve returned one of these GG&G rear ranging sights to OP. It was under the 30days and the locking button failed by popping out in the down position. It’s a poorly designed locking mechanism. The button is only held in by the spring pressure and the leaf detent plate it actuates for release by friction/ upward pressure. If you don’t push straight in on the button, it can and will get stuck.

The apertures. Note: it’s meters and not yards. Description is off.
1st: The large ranging plate blocks at least half- 3 quarters of the viewable surrounding when used with a 20mm objective red dot.
Secondly, the 300m aperture on the one I have is slightly off center from the other distance apertures. It’s only off by a millimeter but enough that will need its own zero.
Three: It is overly a complicated, poor & contrived design.
Back to front: The hex screw holding in the ranging wheel is rounded and reflects light upward toward the aperture. The plate it holds in has a circle cut out that is only concentric with...

Sight Picture Distortion

by Beans, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on February 13, 2022
This is the email body I’ve recently sent to GG&G since the option to return this sight is no longer available. I waited too long to mount this rear sight and the option to return it is no longer available on the OP app.

My name is Marco. I bought a GG&G Rear Sight w/ Ranging to compliment the Precision Reflex Industries A2 height Gas Block and flip up front Sight on my rifle.

It was purchased from Optics Planet. I’ve yet to check with them on returning the sight for a credit but I wanted to see the extent of the lifetime warranty from the source.

I’d blame my aging eyes yet I only have an issue with this actual rear sight. I understand the concave/ convex debate with varied rear sights. My eyes do favor flat apertures such as the Scalarworks Peak fixed rear or 2A Armament flip up rear sight. I also have the Magpul MBUS Pro, PRI flip up and Daniel Defense on other AR15’s. No issues with any of these sights listed.

The issue this sight is causing is an oblong effect on my front sight under varied light conditions. The PRI front sight is perfectly round and has been tested with some of my other rear sights. It is my humble opinion that 3 things are the major cause of a distorted sight picture.
1) The concave ranging aperture sits forward of a flat plate containing a 2nd circle (the plate holding in the ranging apertures). The plate has a flat port (neither concave or convex).
2) The screw securing the outer plate to the assembly provides its own reflection under varied li...
