I am comparing this to the old Weaver Classic K4, and the more recent Leupold FX-I, both of which have sadly been discontinued. Comparatively, this scope is on par with both. The glass is plenty good for the intended application, and miles better than comparable variable optics at a similar price point. The adjustments translate very closely to downrange POI shifts, and they are solid. Despite complaints from others, the mil-dot reticle subtends accurately in 1mil increments. I think they may have misunderstood the manual saying it was for 10x. Even if the K4 or FX-I were still available, I’d likely pick this one. If any of my junior CMP shooters need a scope, this is the one I suggest.
Pros:
- Good optical clarity.
- solid adjustments
- Excellent sight picture
- Accurate reticle
- Inexpensive for the quality
Cons:
- Manual misprint is misleading on the reticle
Best Used for:
- Small game hunting
- rimfire
- CMP Sporter

After adjusting the ocular and AO lenses the view and reticle are bright and clear. I can not vouch for the accuracy of the adjustments yet. I wish the adjustments had numbers. At this price I would buy again
Cons:
- Windage and elevation adjustments not numbered

As others reviewed, the mildot spacing is not....great, or very useful. The recticle is thick enough to easily see for hunting/plinking, but not great for target shooting. The range numbers printed are at best a ballpark guesstimation, and when I first rotated the objective bell there was a "POP". Um, ok... but after extensive use on a Diana-48, nad now a Gamo repeater, it's holding well. with no shifting. The range numbers printed are at best a ballpark guesstimation. IT's good for a budget scope.
Best Used for:
- informal target / hunting

The title of this review says it all. I didn't buy this scope thinking it would be the quality, performance, and specifications of a Nightforce scope, or something like it. I bought this scope because I was on a budget, and was looking for something with a low and fixed magnification for short-range shooting on a low-recoil, small caliber rifle. And it's simple. I don't need/want illumination, crazy reticles, or overly complicated adjustments. Basically, I envisioned the scope version of iron or open sights. This scope did just that, so I'm happy. I haven't put it through any harsh environments or put it to the test in any way. Nor do I really intend to. I'm not going to combat with the rifle this scope is attached to, just so casual and occasional hunting and/or plinking. And this scope is great for exactly that. So I'm happy with it. No issues, no complaints, no problems. Just a decent, no frills, scope for those of us on a budget. Not the best, but good enough for me.
Only preference I would have is for a lower fixed power options (such as 2x).
Pros:
- Lightweight
- easy to use
- Inexpensive
- Simple
- good enough for the price
Best Used for:
- Small game hunting
- plinking
- short range shooting
- casual hunting
- occasional hunting
- low-recoil shooting

Although the Optics appeared to be good, when beginning process of sighting in, dust covers on vertical & horizontal adjustments were jammed on so tight that the tubes unscrewed from the scope. Was not able to separate covers from tubes. Am returning the scope.
Pros:
- Unknown as was not able to complete sighting in.

Nice scope for the price. Great optical quality. The length of the scope will allow it to fit almost any firearm. This is a good scope for a fair price. Much nicer than the Simmon's/Tasco's/Bushnell's for only a couple of dollars more.
Pros:
- Quality
- Affordable
- Optical clarity

Pretty good scope for the money. Reticle isn’t that good for my use. I assumed incorrectly that the spacing was standard mil dot, 3.6moa, which would have been great for me. (Don’t know what I was thinking). But it is 3.6 at 10x making this 3.6 times 2.5. But it does help. I threw it on a Gamo Urban. I chronied the 14.3gr Crosman domes at 850fps and sighted at 30. Drop is only a couple inches at 50. The first “mil” dot is 4.5”. So it helps as I can “bracket” between the cross hair and dot. As for the crosshair thickness, it is about what you would expect from a relatively inexpensive 4x and I like it. This air rifle has almost zero recoil so I can’t speak to its toughness for a springer. Optics are ok. Nothing more than its price point though. Clear especially in the center. When you move from side to side or up and down you see some “fish bowl” distortion along the edge. But it’s a sub $100 scope and I expected that. It reminds me of a Nikon Prostaff, if that’s any help. First time I turned the AO ring I felt a bind then release. That was the only time and it seems ok, but it does make wonder. The marked measurements are a little off but easy to grow accustomed to. I put it just over 50’ and it is good from 12 or so yards to 30 plus. I think the reticle remains on target when the ring is turned which can be an issue on cheaper scopes. All things considered, this scope will absolutely work for me!
Pros:
- Decent optics, seems rugged enough.
Cons:
- not really a con, but the Mil-Dot reticle is mil times 2.5, (I should have known)
Best Used for:
- Air rifles with decent accuracy but not exception accuracy
Would recommend: Yes

I bought the Hawke Vantage 4x32mm A.O. because I wanted an adjustable objective scope that would work at very short ranges, e.g. under 50 feet. The scope was mounted on a FWB 124 Sport 'springer' air rifle and shot indoors starting at 30 feet. The scope seems to adjust and track very well, and held up fine during the first and only range session of approximately 100 shots. The view through the scope seems to be very sharp and the eyepiece focus works good. My only minor complaint is the reticle; I would prefer a standard duplex rather than a mil dot but the A.O. model isn't offered in that configuration. I can't speak to durability since the scope has only been used once on my air rifle. If the scope holds up to airgun recoil, and if the A.O. model were offered with a duplex reticle, then I would rate it at 5 stars plus.
Pros:
- sharp image, good eye relief, short range A.O.
Cons:
- lack of duplex reticle choice for the AO model
Best Used for:
- short ranges under 50 yards where an A.O. is needed
