I am very happy with the jag, it takes advantage of all the surface area of a patch to mop up all the gunk. It took a minute to get used to the concept, but once is zeroed in on a 2" patch for .308 it was a perfect fit. You can make a mistake with too small or too big - so just give it a chance and make sure you get the patch size right. Do not leave any patch at the base larger diameter by the threaded end or it will end up too big. Fit the patch in the grooved area.
Pros:
- extra cleaning surface area

Jag works great. Make it extremely easy to change out patches.
**Only issue I had with this product is the burrs left on a few of the barbs that were about 1/4 inch long. Had to remove them before using the jag.**

Did'nt work that well for me.I have better luck wrapping my patch around a brass brush. The tiny prongs on the jag don'nt hold as well as the bristols on a brush. I realize the prongs can't be to long,so I just prefer to go with the brush then you can also scubb the bore with it if need be.
Cons:
- did'nt hold the patch well

Best Jag on the market that I know of cleans your barrels 100 times better than the old piercing style. Have been using a Parker Hale Jag on my 30 cals. for years only need one will probably last me a life time. This one is for my 223 and 22 cal. You won't be disappointed buy one today. Shipping is slow so order ahead of time the prices and discount are great so I can over look the Shipping delay.

ever have problems holding a patch on to your jag before you shove it down the barrel & it falls on the floor before you get it in the barrel. problem solved just wrap a patch around this jag & it stays there. PERFECT

If you want your rifle barrel to be squeaky clean, and take less time to clean, the J. Dewey Parker Hale brass jag will do the job ten times better and faster than a regular jag. With a cleaning patch wrapped around a Parker Hale jag, you have a huge amount of surface contacting your rifle bore.

Seems there are as many cleaning tools as there are cleaning chemicals these days. But this is one item that really is an improvement in the way of cleaning. I have used the jags with the needle hole in the end, and I simply hate them. I also own a set of the brass jags with the pointed tip. I really like those, but this one is my favorite. You get more surface contact with your patch wrapped around this jag. The patch doesn't slip off or get punctured so you don't loose this inside your barrel. This jag has some ridges or "teeth" that hold the patch in place. Just wrap the patch around the jag. These cost a little more but I think it's worth it. It's all I use on my rifles now.
Pros:
- More surface contact with bore
- patch doesn't come off in bore
Cons:
- A little pricey but worth it
