Under-Built, No Warranty
During my first use of this product it failed under normal use.
Kelty refused to honor the warranty without examining the product or discussing it with me. They have not responded to my attempts to contact customer service.
During a mild descent with minimal weight in my pack, with one foot and both poles firmly planted, my other foot slipped slightly. I used my planted foot and both poles to steady myself until my foot in motion found purchase, and in the process one of the poles failed.
This is a normal use scenario, this is what hiking poles are meant to do, this product should not have failed in this use.
Do NOT buy this product if you intend to use them for anything but show, they are not build well enough to be used as they are intended. When they fail Kelty will NOT honor the warranty. Save yourself the money and buy some real poles.
