Easy install and sight in. super bright dot day and night. I like the ability to switch from gripsense to manual mode.

In practicality, it works as you'd want it to. The sad part is that it can't be trusted. I purchased this in April, and I'm about to change the battery for the 3rd time. It sits in a sticky holster, and it's for a warm-weather gun, so it's not used all the time. Now, I've lost trust in it, and I never know when it will fail. I've had a Crimson Trace in the past, and I debated getting that, but I heard good things about the Gripsense.
I called their customer support, thinking maybe it was a faulty laser. The woman answering the phone got an attitude and asked me if I changed the battery. I explained I only had it a couple of months, and it hadn't been used, and why would it die so fast? After arguing about it she reluctantly told me she'd send a battery. I told her not to bother since I had spare batteries and I'd try replacing it. My Crimson Trace lasted longer with a lot more range time. If you're going to purchase this, buy a lot of batteries. I chalk it up to a failed experiment and I'll move on.

Very sensitive. It comes on quickly. Very good product. Easy to adjust the sight. Shipping was quick and customer service is exceptional. I would buy again. Just make sure it is off when putting it away.

I purchased the LaserMax Gripsense for my Ruger EC9S from Optics Planet. They had the best price and shipping options, it was an easy choice. The fit and finish of the LaserMax Gripsense are expertly engineered and once installed, become one with the firearm. Installation was very easy and the required hex key is included in the package. Initial sight in was very close out of the box. I did a slight adjustment by aligning the laser on a wall about 30 feet away with the iron sights on the gun. On the range, I made only one small adjustment and after a few rounds, had good confidence that the bullet will hit the green dot on the paper every time. The green laser is extremely bright and easy to see in all light conditions. The Gripsense system works well, maybe too well and is the reason I took one star off my rating. It uses what’s called capacitive inductance which is geek speek for touch activation. The problem I encountered is it’s a little too sensitive. I carry in the appendix position with a Kydex holster and the trigger guard is exposed. Even through a t-shirt, my belly touching the side of the trigger guard is enough to turn on the laser. In any other carry position, this would not be an issue. The laser can be easily activated by tapping a switch on either side of the laser but this sort of defeats the purpose. Problems with mine. I returned the first one thinking it was using up batteries too fast. Turns out I found that I was putting it in my pocket carry in my back pocket and when I sat down it would turn on the light. I took quite a bit of trouble trying to figure this out but finally realized it was only eating up batteries when I carried the gun in my back pocket.
Next problem was inside the trigger guard. It had a sharp edge on the plastic that would pinch my finger from time to time. 1st time I went to the range I came back with a big blister on my finger. Finally I just took the unit off my gun and took my jack knife and carved a long smooth edge with SHOULD remedy that situation. I still gotta find a pocket holster that I can replace the Ruger one. I had one other that was worse than the Ruger pocket holster. Not Ruger's fault just that button on the side of the laser would get pushed whenever I sat down.

I’ve had it in my bag or pocket for a few months now. No problems at all and it has kept on target. I don’t use the automatic turn on. I just press the button. I also use it for a little aiming practice here and there. Would buy again

The laser worked great and turned on properly with the right activation button. The left activation button would not even push in and would not activate the laser on or off the gun. I could get it to work when I installed a small spacer between the left button and the micro switch. I decided to return the device to LaserMax for replacement. This was over two week ago and have not received anything back yet so the jury is still out on LaserMax and whether I recommend this product.

This is my first laser I’ve purchased so I have nothing to compare it to but I have found this Lasermax gripsense Laser to be sufficient and for the price, it’s a good value. Time will tell how this holds up.

This LaserMax Gripsense is the best thing since sliced bread. Compact and on when you need it. No finding the "ON button" just pick it up and very bright green laser is on. Could not be happier with fit finish and overall quality of this sight.
