Most Helpful Negative Review Thin leather- better off with a Galco

Review of BlackHawk Leather Compact Askins Holster

I really like this holster because it can be moved about and worn in several positions to conceal any print of a firearm (hugs the body) yet still makes for an easy, quick draw - even with an untucked shirt over it. It is well made and very durable but does require a couple of break-in days (wet interior of holster, wrap handgun with several layers of wax paper, push tightly into holster and let wetted leather dry completely).
Pros:
  • Holds the weapon close to the body
  • can be worn in several position
Cons:
  • Break in period
  • Cant is not adjustable
  • belt slots are not large enough for 1-3/4" belt
Best Used for:
  • Concealment
  • easy draw

I am pleased with the quality of this holster. The workmanship is very good. I like the position it holds my pistol and the ease that it can be concealed and accessed. The adjustable retention feature allows you to make your weapon as secure as you wish. A very good investment!

Perfect J-frame belt carry

Nice and tight carry to side. Pistol fit tight at first but broke in quickly. Solid carry and easy fast withdraw'l. This holster is made with quality leather and the craftsmanship is 1st class. Belt needs to be less than 1 3/8" wide to fit holster loop and allow proper fit. Belt at 1 1/4 " is perfect. Very Pleased!

This is a great quality holster and is simple and affective.

Pros: This holster is all you need for carry, and quick deployment.
Cons: Is a little tight, but i will break it in before I use the adjusting screw.

this took the place of a pocket holster and is much faster to get in action. Covers with long shirt . can get to your gun in a car seat much better.
