Neither Leatherwood/HiLux, OpticsPlanet, or any other vendor tells you in any of the product descriptions that the mount is NOT usable for distances 100 yards or less. For a number of my purposes this makes the sight mount unusable. According to the Technical Services at Leatherwood/HiLux the only way to make the mount usable for shorter distances is to have a gunsmith make a custom, front scope mount shim that will raise the front mount about 1/4 to 3/8 of an inch. As sold, you are unable to even bore-sight the scope to the rifle. I spent $200.00 for the mount and another $90.00 to have the rifle drilled and tapped to only discover I can not use the scope on the rifle for the shorter distances.
