Most Helpful Positive Review holy moly this is great
Love mine works perfect on my m70 AK with ar buffer tube. Gives me perfect length of pole and brings my eye right in line with sights and with optic couldn't ask for more for ak platform. Really gives you a ton of control to solve the recoil pad in the back adds for less I felt recoil and it looks g...

Most Helpful Negative Review Half finished
First off, I have been a fan of Luth for years. This stock started out as a good idea but they forgot to finish it…or it was finished as an after thought. I still can’t figure it out. Super sloppy on the buffer tube. Their is a “clamp screw” on mine to stop the rattle, but it’s nothing like the Pict...

Way too tight had to file it to fit mil-spec

by MrRiles, Verified Owner from ID, United States Written on December 11, 2024
Stock would not fit on a mil-spec buffer tube. They have some tabs inside that look like they are to cut down on rattling and hold it up to reduce friction. Well these had to be filed down to fit my ar. About 2 hours later I had it to the point where it fits but is so tight it’s all or nothing. The plastic used is good sturdy plastic, hence the 2 hours filing. Main plastic parts look more durable than my magpul. The adjustment lever however, looks flimsy. I still need to remove some more material to get it easer to adjust. If you have a commercial buffer, pick a different stock. No way is this going to fit a larger tube. Mine is 1.148”, 1.17 will never fit this stock.
Pros:
  • Looks great on the gun
  • Main body is a good solid plastic
Cons:
  • Adjustment lever is flimsy
  • Takes filing to fit not plug and play

Not to well designed

by Kenny, Verified Owner from NY, United States Written on October 7, 2024
This stock is on its way back.It arrived on time, thanks OP but it is not as described in the pictures and video. It is extremely loose on a Milspec tube with the tightening screw in a position where it basically screws onto the buffer tube, in my case a Aero Anodized ODG tube which I don't want to damage or scratch up with this bare metal screw that just clamps down on the tube when tightened, not to mention it makes this stock FIXED to the tube until the screw is loosened. In the video the clamp screw is at the very front of the stock and basically clamps down around the buffer tube causing ZERO damage to any parts of the rifle. I have rifle length fixed Luth-AR on another rifle with no complaints but this MBA-5 is a no go!.... IT BASICALLY DON'T FIT
Pros:
  • None
Cons:
  • Basically it is ONLY designed for COMMERCIAL buffer tubes, the description is not accurate

wonky color

by Jim, Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on June 1, 2024
The stock is exactly as expected. It fits my needs perfectly, especially for the price. Just let me warn you that the ”FDE” model is more of a light tan. I know, it looks tan in the picture, but usually the picture color is more related to your screen than the item so I expect it to be different. This is very very light compared to any other FDE out there.
I’m not upset, it turned out great! Just thought maybe it would be 3 shades darker

Luth MBA-5 carbine stock

by Dude, from FL, United States Written on April 5, 2024
Looked cool and had a comparable price to other brands but that was the only positive. When I received it in mail , upclose this thing is junk. I've had better plastic fit on airsoft stuff. The plastic is flexible and bendy, not what you want on a firearm. The injection mold area from manufacturer were not even cleaned off had a glob of rough plastic on bottom. The lever to extend or retract the stock sounds like sand rubbing inside and is very rough to open or close and the lever has a ton of flex in it that I'm sure will eventually break off. I do not recommend this stock to anybody that actually shoots.

Cheap build and quality

by Soloshot, Verified Owner from MD, United States Written on July 21, 2022
Not recommended at all. I unpackaged the product and had it in my hands for about 5 seconds and was like absolutely not. Flimsy and not a good build. Stick with Magpul, BCM, Daniel Defense. Not worth the reduction in ounces. If this stock strikes something hard enough it’ll break. Not a proponent of dropping your carbine but if you’re doing drills and your stock hits something transitioning, using baracades w/e idk if this will hold up
Pros:
  • None
Cons:
  • everything
  • Design
  • Build
  • craftsmanship
  • adjustment latch
Best Used for:
  • PAPER WEIGHT

Not as advertised.

by Dr. Bill, Verified Owner from MD, United States Written on April 8, 2022
It does not fit the mil spec buffer tube and is extremely shakey.. would be nice to have the tightening screw to tighten it up or even just the hole to put one would make me satisfied but the tabs are there just solid plastic. Sent an email still no response..
Pros:
  • Nice pocket handle and idea..
Cons:
  • Doesn't fit smaller milspec tubes
  • Does not have tightening screw
  • Doesn't have a spot for tightening screw
Best Used for:
  • doorstop

Luth-AR MBA-5

by Cole D., Verified Owner from SC, United States Written on January 26, 2022
Bought this stock to replace the standard m4 that came with the rifle. The looks and price convinced me to try it. The buttpad contour fits my shoulder well, and the flared cheek welds are an improvement over original. The adjustment lever does feel gritty, but I'm not adjusting it that often. Also, no rattle screw, but...I don't have any noticeable rattle or fitment issues. Probably be a 5 star review if the buttpad rubber were softer/grippy and the gritty adjustment.
Pros:
  • GREAT PRICE
  • EASY INSTALL
  • Nice Contour
Cons:
  • Gritty adjustment lever

I Bought 3 now....

by Chris S, Verified Owner from NC, United States Written on March 27, 2021
I agree, the item does not appear that impressive in RL, however, the fit is satisfactory. The stock is easy to adjust and very sturdy once it’s pitted. Finally, the low rail make this a feature packed stock for under $50. I love the style and so it’s my go to for standard build. The plastic is quite thin and light, but seems sturdy enough to use as a buttstock, not a skeleton key. I would say this item isn’t up to par with LUTH-AR other stocks, but they designed it certainly, and it looks sharp on my guns.
Pros:
  • Affordable
  • Easy to adjust and install
  • Picatinny
  • loogs good on AR
Cons:
  • plastic is quite thin
  • looks cheap
Best Used for:
  • stylish buttstock on AR

Low Quality

by basscast84, from NM, United States Written on February 28, 2021
The quality is terrible the adjustment lever grinds and stutters when depressed...not even close to smooth operation. Feels very flimsy and cheap also. I dont knowing this speaks to the other models or not. This is the only Luth-AR product I have used.
