Most Helpful Positive Review Perfect Scope for Bench Rest 22 Rifle
This scope replaced my Leupold Vari-X 2x7 about 5 years ago. If you've upgraded your 22 target rifle for accuracy, you'll find that you can only shoot as good as your scope. You'll need the high magnification and short parallax features of this scope to shoot tiny targets at relatively close range...

Most Helpful Negative Review Throw away
It is a 160$ scope so. Pretty good to 18x but not clear after that not clear. Does hold sight poi .I had hoped it would be adequate for what I was doing at 3-400yds but it is not . Apparently I need to say more or I can't submit so I am doing this

Bad turrets, good glass, cheaply made in general

by Chris, Verified Owner from RI, United States Written on October 16, 2025
Turrets are loose inside the scope body and wiggle like the shafts are undersized. Clicks are so mushy that there is free play almost as big as 1 devision (1/8 moa). Glass was clear. Paralex adjustment at 100 yards was not possible until I turned down near 25 yards. Too many issues. I decided not to even use the ammo and returned it. Cosmetics are nice, but this scope didn't even pass my initial setup at the range. To budget for me.
Pros:
  • Low cost, good glass and cosmetics
Cons:
  • Poor optomechanical design
Best Used for:
  • Giving to your competitor before a match and convincing them to use it. LOL

Great scope value.

by SteveH, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on October 24, 2022
This scope does what I want it to do very well, and that is ARA and ABRA bench rest. Every thing functions as expected, very accurate, very clear, and a great value for the price. Are there better scopes? Probably, but don't think there are any better for the price.

Literal garbage

by MisterTuna, Verified Owner from ME, United States Written on April 3, 2021
This scope was such a waste of money I’m kicking myself for ever thinking a $180 scope could be good. Can’t seem hold a zero whatsoever, cheaply built, probably Chinese. Going to try to get my money back for this garbage.
Pros:
  • Lure you into a false sense of having an accurate weapon when you shoot 1moa a few times
Cons:
  • Spew your money for trash
Best Used for:
  • Garbage can
  • Throwing in the trash

Good inexpensive scope

by ruidoc, from NM, United States Written on November 17, 2018
I have this scope on a heavy barrel 10-22 that I use for sillouettes out to 150 meters with a 20MOA base, shooting the whole match on 25 power. Slightly fuzzy but usable at max power at 150 meters. A side focus would be easier to use. 1/8 minute clicks seem to be repeatable. This is the ultimate test for a target .22 scope. I hope it holds up in the long run.
Pros:
  • Inexpensive
  • Inexpensive, 1/8 minute clicks
Cons:
  • Hard to reach focusing objective
Best Used for:
  • Target, small game hunting

Meuller scope review

by john, from MI, United States Written on January 31, 2018
The optics are crisp and clear. This scope is going on a .223 AR-15 platform. This platform will consist of a 24 inch target barrel in the completed rifle. I would recommend this scope. A great value for the price. Getting to the range will determine the final result.

Good scope at reasonable price!

by Irishjim, Verified Owner from OH, United States Written on March 21, 2017
Bought this Mueller to mount on a new CZ 527 Varmint in 204 Ruger caliber. The CZ 527 has a unusual 16mm dovetail for mounting scopes which severally limits your choice of rings. I originally wanted a side focus 30mm version of this scope but every vender I checked was out of 30mm rings that would fit the 16mm dovetail. Finally decided to go with the 1" tube and I am not disappointed the glass is clear and gathers plenty of light. Parallax adjustments on the bell are smooth and finding the sharpest setting is very easy. The reticle is fine enough that even at 300 yards it doesn't interfere with target blocking. The CZ 527's varmint barrel is thinner and lighter than most varmint guns. With a hot load and a heavy bullet the gun jumps more than I expected. That hasn't affected the zero of the scope. The turrets move POA easily in 1/8" increments and are very predictable when adjusting. At 19 oz the scope and gun combined to a manageable 8Lb 8oz very light for a varmint gun and a pleasure to carry. The eye relief is excellent at about 3". I haven't had a chance to shoot beyond 300 yards yet but I believe the Mueller should be very capable out to 500 yards which the suggested maximum range for the 204 Ruger cartridge.
Pros:
  • easy power adjusting
  • good eye relief for non-eyeglass wearers
  • Easy parallax adjustment
  • Clear glass at all magnifications
Cons:
  • None found so far
Best Used for:
  • long distance accurate shooting

Practicing Coyote Sniper

by Marty, from WV, United States Written on March 1, 2017
You cannot go wrong with this scope! The Mueller 8.5x25x44 1"tube mill dot scope is in my opinion... the best scope for a an absolutely obscene low price!! I purchased 1 of these and mounted it on a thumb hole savage 93 .17 and it is awesome. I just purchased another for a Remington 700 sps varmint in 22-250 and cannot wait to see how the local coyote gang handles the new addition to the family..lol. If you are looking for superb clarity and a spot on target reticle that does not block out the target.....look no further. Just do yourself a favor and call the guys at optics planet and order a mueller, you can forgive yourself later for not doing it sooner.

Ordered 2, one was good one was bad

by Jim, from TN, United States Written on February 23, 2017
One that worked worked excellent; one that did not was really bad..Would not focus and paralex was crazy bad....However, Im going to go with 3 stars and still recommend it as the good one is spot on and everyone else I know that owns on is happy as well...Additionally, Opticsplanet is a joy to work with and provided an RMA return number and free shipping with no problem...Think I just got a fluke..Mueller's are good scopes for the money.
Pros:
  • Opticsplanent is user friendly on RTNs
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • .22 Bench Rest competition

Pros:
  • Cheap
Cons:
  • weak
Best Used for:
  • rimfire and low-recoil rifles
