Most Helpful Positive Review Excellent Optics and Value
For the $$, the compact Nikon 8263 Aculon A30 10x25's are Excellent in Features, Performance and Build Quality. The A30 is very close to my $500 BX-3's (a top-tier optical performer), only lacking to the BX-3 in weather proofing and super 3-D Depth-of-field. The A30's sharp, crystal clear and detail...

Most Helpful Negative Review Description of product does not match the product
Although the binocular appears to be of good quality and at present is very clear. The issue I ran into is that the binocular I ordered was listed as a DEMO and what I received was a refurbished unit having only a 90 day limited warranty. This is not an issue with Nikon as they are noted for good ...

Good Value

by ClydeC, Verified Owner from NJ, United States Written on August 9, 2025
I have purchased at least three of this binocular, for myself and friends. I keep mine in my car. You never know what you might come upon while driving. It takes up hardly any room in the glove box. The quality is what you expect from Nikon. It doesn't take the place of my full size binoculars but it sure is handy in a pinch. It's great for sporting events and concerts. Fits in a pocket or purse.
Pros:
  • Handy
  • Good quality and price
Cons:
  • None

14 years in

Got these as a gift in 2010 and they have held up flawlessly. To say I am rough on gear is an understatement. I normally hunt 30 or so days a year and every hunt they've been around my neck getting knocked around. They haven't been in the case in years, when I'm not in the woods they live on my kitchen counter. Just a few days ago they sat through a snow storm with windchills in the single digits then brought straight into a 71* house. Lenses have never scratched and focus knob still works like new.

Nice Christmas Gift

by Steve, from NC, United States Written on January 8, 2021
I got these for my sister in law as a Christmas gift. She wanted to have a light, compact set of binoculars to bird watch without having to drag out a full size set of binoculars.
All in all, she was very pleased. These seem to be very good glass at a good price for the intended use. We certainly were happy with the purchase.

Great for the price

After using a inexpensive binocular for years this was really a treat. Love the way if focuses for near or far. I have used it for watching birds from my patio, both near and far. We are in a flight path so it also works well for watching planes coming in for landing.

Serves the purpose

Took them camping and couldn't be happier as these are small, lightweight and offer clear views. The only drawback is that they are not waterproof but don't let that dissuade you. Nikon makes some great products and these won't disappoint.

Good Things In Small Packages

by Ron, Verified Owner from NJ, United States Written on February 8, 2015
When searching for a pair of quality compact binoculars, you need look no further than the Nikon A30s. The optics are crisp and clear, the weight and size are negligible, and the price is very affordable. Although best known for their camera-related products, Nikon produces excellent binoculars, and these A30s are a good example.

Great backup binocular

by Clyde, from NJ, United States Written on August 30, 2014
My wife and I are enthusiastic birders. As such we never want to be without a binocular. I bought this Nikon Aculon for my wife to keep in the glove box of her car. We are both very pleased with it. It has a very good image for its size and price. It doesn't take the place of our full size binoculars but is more than adequate in a pinch. Remember, the best binocular is the one you have with you when something worth seeing comes along.
Pros:
  • Compact Size
  • good image quality
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • sports
  • Birding
  • theatre
