I just received a Nikon A211 8x42 and had high expectations. I am very disappointed. The diopter will not move for any adjustment and I am afraid to force it. What to do? Such a hassel to return but unsure if it is entirely necessary. No more Nikons for me

nikon product great .. price great.. but O.P. shipping and service lacks a great amount .. webb site is a mess one can not do anything .it runs you around in circles .. send click does nothing .. no one answers phone ..'' you '' have to log in the sale for O.P. bucks its not done auto to your account . thus you can loose the $$ .. then its not clear at check out where to claim the o.p. bucks thus you loose them .. it looks like they designed it so you will loose the o.p. bucks .. I just will go some where else even if it cost more .. shame were a good co.. one can only blame the cov -china -19 on so much failures ..

Again, duplicating a problem encountered with the Aculon A211 10x50s, while the performance is better than it's price might indicate, I found the usual right-eye diopter simply could not be turned enough to the plus (+) sign to focus that eye. With the large variety of pairs I own this issue has never been encountered before. I gave the 10x50s to a niece who thought they were "cool". I think I'll keep the 42s, because all the ado required in getting an RA, boxing them up and waiting who knows for how long to receive a more usable set, well, they're good enough.

I purchased these binoculars as a gift for a son-in-law and they arrived in approximately 7 days. These were the first Nikon binoculars I have purchased and my son-in-law is really enjoying them. My experience with Opticsplanet was easy, fast and I actually saved money buying them from OP rather than from our local store. I have since ordered other items and so far I'm extremely happy with OP.

Inpurchased the glasses for my neighbor so he can watch activities at the Bible Camp 800 yards away on the other side of the lake. Since receiving the binoculars he has commented on how clear and quick to focus they are,,his wife has also used the glases and commented favorably on the ease it is to use them and the fact that they are not super heavy while providing a very clear view.
The binoculars are fairy large in size so probably not for carrying while backpacking but will work well when a need to spot a mountain sheep on a ridge far away.

I have had stronger binoculars, but these are very sharp and make up for the 10x50 I had before.Lighter and easy to use. There is a place to hook up a tri-pod but needs a special L bracket that does not come with the binoculars. It does come with a light weight case and a strap for the binoculars.

The optics are really good. Comfort and fit are spot on. The only thing to be aware of is they are not water proof. A fact I was aware of and purchased them knowingly. If that is an important feature to you then these may not be right for you.
