I purchased this scope to mount on a custom made Browning BLR chambered in .35 Whelen. I wanted a scope that could be used in thick cover and still be able to reach out to 400 yards. This one did the trick!
The scope is light weight and very bright at dawn and dusk. The BDC is great and using Nikon's SpotOn website program I was able to get exact drop for my prefered load.
So far this year the rifle/scope combo has accounted for a 200lbs 11 point buck at 35 yards, an 800lbs Nilgai bull at 177 yards, and a 300lbs Nilgai cow at 300 yards. Couldn't be more pleased!
Pros: Light weight, bright optics, BDC
Cons: None

Love it. Put this on a 45-70. Great at low light conditions and very clear view.

Most excellent scope for the money.
Pros: Excellent viewing of target in all conditions, holds zeroing even when bumped around.
Cons: A bit heavy, but worth it weight in gold.

This is an update to my previous review. This is my 9th Nikon scope. I think they are a great value. I volunteer at the rifle sight in program at my range. I have never seen any optics that compare to my Nikons. This is the first Nikon Scope that I am frustrated with. The Optics have great clarity. I was just disappointed to find a large fuzz behind the front objective. It takes me 2-3 hours to bed a scope right and somehow I missed this fuzz looking at me. I wish I had stuck with the Prostaff line that I have never had issue with instead of paying for an expensive fuzz.
Pros: Great Optics
Cons: Big Fuzz stuck behind the front objective
Would recommend: Yes

The Nikon scopes are all a great value. I cannot tell an discernible difference between this and the Prostaff Models. I have 2 Monarch's and 6 Prostaff. I love the BDC and can tap 1 by 1 ft steel @ 500 yards and see the marks with my 7mm. That is all the clarity I need with both the Monarch and Prostaff models. I did break the plastic flip cover off within 5 min of shooting @ the range. I was happy it happened there.
Pros: BDC
Cons: Plastic cover

This is a great scope, very clear optics. Narrowed down to Nikon vs Leupold. Comparing specs side by side, a comparable Leupold was $100 more. Very happy with this scope. Mounted with Burris tactical rail on Rem 700 and Burris Signature Zee Rings. Really like the mounts too. Easy install with no lapping.
Pros: Clear optics, BDC reticle, Great value, includes snap up scope covers, lifetime warranty
Cons: Haven't found any yet
Would recommend: Yes

Bought to sit on a Sako Quad. Impeccable build quality; bright and clear optics; smooth, firm zoom; accurate and repeatable adjustments; generous and constant eye relief; deep objective "hood". Seems very similar to a VX3 2.5-8 Leupold, but better value. Ocular housing seems bulky relative to the [32mm] objective, and the standard adjustment turrets (interchangeable for other factory types) are a bit bulky, but that's being picky: I'd buy another one...
Pros: Build Quality, Optics, Eye relief, Zoom range
Cons: Bulky (if interchangeable) turrets
Would recommend: Yes
