Great Binocular for the money
I was looking for a smaller pair of binoculars to take hunting with me. In the past I have used a 9 x 25 and was looking to get something a little bit brighter, but still in smaller package. I decided to give these Nikons a try and while they are not as compact as my other ones they still are a smaller pair of binoculars that perform very well. I compared them at dusk with my 10 x 42 binoculars and there was not much difference at all in what I could see. I focused in on the street sign and the letters were just as clear at about 150 yards away. I wasn’t looking to spend $300-$400 and I am very satisfied with this purchase.
Pros:
- Compares with, or exceeds the brightness capabilities of comparable priced larger binoculars.
- Compares with or exceeds light gathering the larger size binoculars in the same price range.
- Compares with or exceeds light gathering capabilities versus larger binoculars in the same price range.
Cons:
- not the best sight picture
- Not as compact as a 9 x 25 but still small enough to carry around with no problem.
- Not quite as compact as a 9 x 25 binocular, but better light gathering and still small enough to carry around quite easily.
Best Used for:
- Viewing sporting events, wildlife and just general use to view things from a distance.
