I purchased the 11.7” and I couldn’t be happier. The finish on it is a flat black matte finish. It comes with everything anti rotation tabs and a wrench adapter for install. When installing I’d recommend putting some aeroshell or grease on the inside of the hand guard and the barrel nut. It’s a tight fit without grease so just a heads up. If you’re looking for a ultra high quality lightweight hand guard this is the one.

I got the 11.7" handguard for a 12.5" barrel. The fit is perfect, it leaves just enough room to (un)install a muzzle device. I don't have a suppressor or linear comp but I imagine they'd sit close to flush with the handguard.
Installing is mostly easy. The handguard fits very tight over the barrel nut, you might want to add some oil to the outside of the barrel nut and the inside of the handguard. I had to use some padding and lightly hammer it in from the front of the handguard. I then used a picatinni mount I had and tightened it down while it was seated over both the receiver and the handguard rails, which forced them into alignment.
Finish is great, looks really good and clean.

Not nearly as nice as the midwest industries handguards.. more expensive even.. but the slr's have perfect length options that really make for an attractive looking gun. The finish is glossy... much like the cheap flimsy handguards.. it does not feel like a $200 piece. Don't get me wrong.. it's still an excellent handguard.. if you're looking for something different.. try the slr.. but I would suggest the midwest industries handguards.
Cons:
- Tacky finish, flimsy feel and price.
Best Used for:
- Specific length for flush muzzle devices.
