Most Helpful Positive Review Innovation At Its Finest
I had been shopping for a safe for my car for a while until I came across this product. I used to be a police officer and typically when a car was broken into, the first places criminals would check are the center console and the glove box. Most of the vehicle safes I have looked at were ones you i...

Most Helpful Negative Review A great idea that could use some improvements.
I really love the concept of this item, and I do like it personally, but there is a lot of room for improvements. The manufacturer had to give up a lot to make it universal. Set up is a pain

by EDC, from PA, United States Written on December 27, 2024
You're supposed to be able to use a key to open it if you loose a set screw and remove a knob. I backed the set screw all the way out and the knob still wouldn't come off. I didn't want to scratch it up prying, so I let that go. Next tried to program the fingerprint reader. They make you do it twice, for reasons never explained. The first time you set up a "Master" finger, which, despite the name, will not open the safe after you complete the second step. Next you have to use a different finger to set up the "User" print. Both steps are fussy, since you have to get 10 good reads for each finger, and not every press results in a read. It will time out if you take too long and you have to start over. Only after you get the fingerprint reader set up can you set up the keypad. I did both, but now the fingerprint reader opens to ANY finger, which is the factory default, so all my eftorts to program it didn't take. The numeric keypad works, though, so I must've done something right. Next you have to fit the headrest rods into your vehicle, which entails loosening four screws to adjust the width. You also have to choose among a bagful of adapters to find one that makes the rods fit snug. Fast forward to attaching the rods to the headrest. You have to fit and tighten two very short screws (so the plate in the safe fits snug to the bracket without the screws protruding). I found it all but impossible. I'm going to the hardware store to buy longer screws that I can actually work with,...
