Nice kit but....

by Jim, from ID, United States Written on September 2, 2025
This is a very nice kit for the most part but I ran into a couple of issues with my build - YMMV...

First issue: the extended mag release did not function reliably - I tried three different types of mags and two out of three worked OK but the third would not drop. Obviously, this would be a problem if you were in a "situation". I ditched the TC mag release button and accompanying extended release tab and just put a standard button on which works perfectly.

Second issue: The ejection port cover is a sloppy fit on a Sons of Liberty stripped upper receiver. I could close it and there were gaps. It wasn't a tight fit and it wouldn't stay closed. It would always end up popping open.

Overall, I like the kit. It looks nice and it's light but some of the components can be quirky, depending on what lower and upper receivers you're using and the lack of response from the company does not instill confidence. I was not bothering them with a problem. I basically said, "Can I get a different length handguard with the kit? Then here, take my money" and they did not reply.

So even though I like the kit, for the most part, there are a few too many issues for me to recommend it.
Pros:
  • Lightweight, nice aesthetics
Cons:
  • Might not play nice with your upper and lower receivers, questionable customer service
Would recommend: No
