This vise is adequate for cleaning a rifle or shotgun. I would purchase a different vise if you intend to mount a scope. I returned the vise after attempting to mount a scope on a 10/22 as I could not get the rifle level in the vise...

Have no fear
This gun vise works great, it may be lightweight but it does not slide around. The weapon stays secure when clamped in. Use mine all the time, no issues at all. Would nont hesitate recomending to a friend.

Overpriced gun vise
The Tipton vice does not secure the barrel only the butt which is a problem when you're trying to lap in scope rings. Hoppy's gun vise is much less expensive and secures both the rear and the front of the rifle which the Tipton does not it lets the front flop around like a I don't know what but it's not worth the money I'll guarantee that might want to start carrying hoppy products I just bought a hoppy gun vise it is absolutely awesome I have a high dollar Tipton gun vise which is not even close to as good as this Hoppies
Best Used for:
- Hoppy's gun vice is probably 10 times better and much easier to use and way cheaper it totally secures your gun where Tipton doesn't

Absolutely necesarry
An absolutely necessary and important tool or device, actually vise, to do any cleaning, maintenance or inspections on all of your rifles. What a great thing this gun vise thing is. The amount of stability needed for scope installation this gun vise does the job!

Great Little Setup
I was a little nervous about buying this vice because of the construction, but I gotta say I’m impressed. Great for mounting scopes and tinkering with your rifle. Really like the little trays to separate different screws and parts while working. Little rubber feet hold it nice and still on my table top and the locking mechanism holds rifle nice and secure. Very good buy for the money.

value for lower level gun smithing
At the price point, this vise serves well for most tasks that require a stable platform from which to work. The draw back is the fixed position of the rests. It has handy wells built into the base, so you can put your parts in close proximity. Assembly is easy peezy.

- handy for most simple gunsmithing tasks

- non adjustable rests

Why pay more for anything else
This is all you need for supporting your rifle to mount a scope or just doing maintenance, easy to use, price is great, useful holding places for stuff like screws etc...and cleaning .. So far works for me...

Helps a lot with my dirty rifles
Bought this gun vise to hold my rifles. Works great by providing a very stable base when running a path or brush, and when scrubbing the action. Adjusts to various rifle and shotgun sizes I have. Glad I bought it.

Tipton gun vise
the product arrived in re-packed box As there was excessive tape on the box and the vise was already put together. Outside of the fact that it looks like I was sold a returned item and it was not advertised as such, the item works as expected and does not have any scratches or dents and works as expected. This is my first gun vise and do not think ill need another anytime soon. One thing to note is the gun vise is a bit longer than I had expected, but I did not consult the measurements of the vise before hand.
