Most Helpful Positive Review Ta 55 .308 BDC
I sighted in my Ta 55 scope today mounted on a .308 M1a with great results. First, for shooters with aging eyes like mine that need reading glasses, (I wear #175)The reticle pattern and target area are both crystal clear at all ranges without diopter adjustments or focusing anything. It seemed the BDC reticle matched up nice with 168 grain ammo. I only tested out to the shooting ranges maximum of 300 yards, but at that range, bullet groups matched the Ta55 reticle predicted impact point. Pros: Easy to set up and use. Very high quality. No batteries needed! Cons: None

Clear and crisp glass

by JW, from MO, United States Written on April 28, 2025
Robust optic with very clear glass, the both eyes open is a little weird at first but adjusts pretty quickly. It is on heavier side.

Simple, Clear and Quality

by Ron, from TX, United States Written on November 1, 2023
Bought this optic for my LWRC 6.8 SPC that I use for a general ranch rifle. Perfect clarity, easy to identify and place on target. This rifle and optic is a work horse. Stays true. Sighted it in once, 3 years later after heavy use, it is still true. Very satisfied with the purchase
Pros:
  • Clear, easy to ID, Durable
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Multi purpose, running shots

This 308 reticle is useful for higher Velocity 5.56 (75-77gr)

by Dan, from FL, United States Written on July 15, 2022
The TA55 is awesome. Yes it's big and chunky, doesn't have a diopter and locks you out at 5.5x. But it's simplicity is pretty unrivaled. It's a combat scope that lets you reach out a little further than the TA11 and Ta31.

The 308 reticle is actually very well suited for heavy, match grade 556 ammo.

Go for it.
Best Used for:
  • Heavy 556 or 308 ammo

Trijicon ACOG 5.5x50 Red Chevron BAC Reticle in .308

by stickers, Verified Owner from AR, United States Written on May 17, 2019
Its an ACOG what more than that do you need to know!?!?! Fantastic glass / clarity at all distances after its zero'd no adjustments nec. no diopter, no focus, no ranging the reticle does its job and built like a tank. It does have the minor annoyance of all acog's when doing the first zero in you must adjust then knuckle Tap it firmly to get the prisms to move, set, otherwise you move it no change, no change then big change Too Far! Hahaha but when its zero'd your set. This BDC is set for 20 inch barrel 168 gr. stated in booklet. I found on my PSA AR10, 18 SS, 1 in 10 right hand twist, barrel BDC likes and is Very good for Hornady 165 gr GMX out to about 600 yds., If I'm stretchin it out The Hornady SST 168 gr Poli tip boat tail with this mounted to my Ruger RPR precision 20 in barrel w/ZRO Delta muz brake in .308 is good from about the 3 hun Yds. stadia line to well beyond what my caffeine stabilized hands and old eyes can accurately judge LOL! (beyond 800 Yds.)
Pros:
  • clear optics
  • built like a tank, almost indestructable
  • solid as Rock holds zero "period"
  • accurate BDC when u figure out wh it likes
  • with your weapon
  • no adjustments nec. dioptor, focus just
  • Point and Bang!
Cons:
  • little pricey, but it'll be the first one you buy
  • You will lose confidence in your other scopes
Best Used for:
  • all in the name Acurized Combat Optical Gunsight
  • scan horizon for windage
  • pull it up drop to matching stadia line width
  • Bang!

Trijicon TA55A ACOG 5.5x50 Rifle Scope, Red Chevron BAC Flattop .308 Reticle and Flat Top Adapter

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on July 6, 2013
Nothing beats the ACOGS for clear glass with minimal eye relief issues. I waited for a couple of months for this model to become available. Very happy with this scope. I would consider another ACOG with the Horse shoe reticle if you desire a more pin point precision. If you want fast target acquisition in all conditions for targets at close to medium distances this TA55A is unbeatable.
Pros: durable, backed by solid company, holds zero, clear glass with quick acquisition in all conditions
Cons: quailty products are expensive, would prefer more reticle choices
