Most Helpful Positive Review Best open sight on the market
This is what I have on my other "DEFENSE WEAPON" and it works very well. Tritium is the way to go when it comes to night sights. Folding style works great to keep it out of sight of other optics until it is needed. This is a well built piece of equipment and will last a very long time. Pros: Foldin...

Most Helpful Negative Review The tritium is dim
I bought 2 sets of these after reading the reviews. It is easy to install and easy to adjust the sight. But, the tritium is almost worthless. You can barely see the sight at night. I have several tritium nite sights on pistols and they are awesome so I know what they should look like. I bought these...

Tritium? yea, powered by dead batteries

by ARegularPerson, Verified Owner from CO, United States Written on February 12, 2024
I should've listened to other reviews on here about these Troy Tritium iron sights but sometimes you sum others complaining up to their own experience. How could I go wrong with Troy I say? I just got a rear DOA sight, and a front M4 Tritium sight, and checked the tritium on both in a very controlled pitch black room. after 30 minutes of eyeball adjustment I began the test. I have 20/20 vision. Test was a non stop struggle to even see anything. I knew in 2 seconds I wanted to return these. You can BARELY see any type of glow in total darkness. If you think these are worth the money you are dead wrong. they grab you with the DOA diopter apeture. Past that you're way overpaying. Sending them back. I also emailed Troy ahead of time to ask directly if they honor their own warranty on dead Tritium and they never emailed back. I told them if they can't answer I'm sending them back anyways. Turns out everyone was right and then some. I am a fan of Troy I have other Troy products that are great. but these are absolutely ridiculous. Totally overpriced. Tritium rating 1 to 10 (10 being bright) Troy's can BARELY rank 1. it's actually HARD to see any glow in pitch black. I cannot emphasize that enough. even after your eyes adjust to no light. trust me I wanted to keep these. but I wanted tritium more than a good diopter and the high price does not justify anything here. Basic $50 green Truglo tritium sights meanwhile are a pleasant 8 or 9 for glow, not too bright not too dim. These Troy ...

Excellent sight picture

by Cameron S, Verified Owner from CO, United States Written on February 4, 2024
The only reason this didn’t get 5 stars is because the tritium isn’t as bright as I imagined it would be. Coupled with a tritium front sight post this makes low light shooting a breeze. No more searching for your sight picture or doing the front sight post dance. Stop staring at it and just buy it.
Pros:
  • easy installation
  • Sight picture
Cons:
  • None
Would recommend: Yes

Beware Troy Does NOT guarantee the Tritium after they turn Dark

by nick778, from TN, United States Written on May 27, 2021
These are not inexpensive sights with the tritium front and back (dioptic that I have) going dark after 7 years. I called Troy fulling expecting to have these warrantied under their limited lifetime warranty. Nope not even any empathy from them. They said 'everyone' knows that Tritium goes dark after about 10 years and if you want to replace the parts containing the tritium, you must buy the entire site, again, at retail. They were kind enough to offer me a 10% discount if I bought another set; are they kidding? My future experience with Troy is over and I will NEVER buy anything from them again. The sights are rugged which why they got 2 stars from me but any company that doesn't stand behind a lifetime warranty these days is bought to eventually fail. I guess they don't care about their retail market. Btw, XS sights will replace your sights if the tritium fails, under their no questions lifetime warranty and are a pleasure to deal with. I had such an instance with them and can't say enough about how pleasant dealing with them was.
Pros:
  • rugged
Cons:
  • Will Not back up Tritium going dark under lifetime warranty; you have to buy ANOTHER set at retail.

Troy, folding dioptic tritium rear sight.

by Petey, from NH, United States Written on December 26, 2018
Troy Industries has a reputation for well made products. This sight is no exception. It works as advertised. The “diamond” / dioptic aperture allows for a far more precise centering of the front sight post when aligning the sights. It picks up easily with the eye, has a comfortable height and the tritium inserts lend tremendous aid to sight acquisition in low light scenario. The function of the folding sight is tactile with an audible yet not overly loud “click” once it locks into the upright position. The spring tension is firm yet not too difficult to manipulate with one hand. My singular gripe with the product is that it is not spring loaded to achieve its upright position. If it were, I would have given it five stars. Is that petty of me? Maybe... but there are other folding sights on the market of much cheaper quality *cough cough Magpul* that have that feature.
Pros:
  • Tritium
  • aluminum
  • Fast sight alignment
Cons:
  • not spring loaded
Best Used for:
  • hard use

Troy Tritium Sights

by John, from CO, United States Written on September 28, 2018
I've got to tell you, I was extremely skeptical that Troy tritium sights would be measureably different from other sights on the market, but they're incredible. The all metal sights are made of top quality materials, superb construction, and function flawlessly. They're pricy, but you definitely get what you pay for. If your life might depend on the backup sights you run, then you only have one choice - TROY!
Pros:
  • Function and brightness.
Cons:
  • None.
Best Used for:
  • All day-time and low light ops.

Great flip up sight

by Tony D, Verified Owner from ME, United States Written on April 6, 2018
Paired with Troy Front Folding Tritium M4 Style BattleSights-Black
SKU: OY-IRN-TRIM4FOLDBATTLE-SSIG-FBS-FMBT-01. Tritium inserts are a must in my opinion on a long gun. No spring assist, manually put up, lock in place and push a spring button and fold down. Basic works. Quality build from Troy Industries.
