Most Helpful Positive Review Wiley X SG1 - Would Recommend
As with so many things, proper understanding is important. I shoot numerous competition sports from skeet to benchrest to IHMSA to IPSC. I needed something to stay in place that was scratch resistant and could accommodate prescription lenses that could easily be swapped out. These met the bill. ...

Most Helpful Negative Review BUYER BEWARE !!!!!
I've had 2 prescription pairs of sunglasses from Wiley X and they're absolutely great...until they break. The problem is that the temples are poorly made and if they break, you CAN'T buy a replacement temple so you end up having to throw them away unless you are lucky and have them under warranty, w...

Tactical googles might be what you expect

by Edward Moore, from SC, United States Written on December 3, 2020
I ordered this product to shoot in and also do other tasks that require safety googles. The googles should work ok but they have a cheap feel to them. I am somewhat disappointed in the purchase. I don’t blame Optics Planet they deliver on time and are great to work with, it was my expectations were higher than the product quality.
Pros:
  • Should function fine. Price is cheap. Lenses change easily.
Cons:
  • Googles have a cheap feel. They do not fit snug around eye sockets

Harley Rider

by Carl, from GU, United States Written on July 19, 2017
I bought the product because a doctor told me I needed to keep the wind off of my eyeball and block out UV rays to have optimum eye health. This product is flexible in design, can be used night or day, as sunglasses or as goggles, and you have belt case to carry them in so you don't lose them! Perfect all around for me.
Pros:
  • lots of flexibility
Cons:
  • with that comes responsibility too
Best Used for:
  • Riding for me but many uses

Solid Asian-fit Goggles, Not so good sunglasses for casual wear

by Spime, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on August 18, 2014
Great goggles if use primarily for range/gun class use. Sunglasses a bit too clunky but functions fine. So in summary, I recommend these glasses if regular glasses don't fit your face, hence the asian fit (smaller nose gap) and if these are primarily used in the goggle setup. Swapping into sunglasses with earpieces does not look as nice as goggles. Clunky for sunglasses.

Light adjusting lens

Love the glasses. Only with the light adjusting lenses would darken to a darker shade. Love to use them on my Harley.
Pros: easy interchange
Cons: They donot get dark enough in sunlight.

I use these while riding motorcycle, shooting range and windy, dusty, or inclement weather. I like the LG version as they adjust to light conditions. Very light and comfortable, plus different options of securing to the body/head is quick, easy and fast.
Pros: Versitile and comfortable

Wiley-X SG-1 goggles with interchangeable lens

by Legacy Reviewer, from OH, United States Written on January 12, 2010
if purchasing SG-1 goggles, recognize major problem with fogging. I tried 3 different de-fogging products w/o success. I used them hunting in the snow and while the lens were great, the fogging was miserable experience. I will be trying the special defog lenses next.

In short, if you plan on using these goggles for winter events with activity, do not purchase regular lens!
Pros: straight forward set up
Cons: fogging makes them worthless

Great goggles for general use

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on February 11, 2009
I originally bought these goggles for use in pyrotechnics. I also take them to the range whenever I go shooting. The goggles are great at keeping debris out and are pretty comfortable. They have a tendency to fog up if you are using the headband instead of the swing-arm attachments, but an application of anti-fog does the trick. My main complaint is that the light sensitive goggle inserts stopped adjusting after a year or so, so now I use different inserts based on the lighting conditions. I've used these for two years to shoot fireworks shows manually and they definitely have saved me from flying debris on more than one occasion. Overall, these are some to of the most comfortable and versatile sets of protective goggles I have ever used.
Pros: Interchangable lenses and headband
Cons: Light adjust lenses lose sensitivity after a year or so
