Most Helpful Positive Review PERFECT FIT RIA 2011
I purchased this for my RIA Tac Ultra 9mm FS 2011. The fitment is AWESOME!! Required zero modification what so ever. I hope this helps someone...I went in blind. Couldn’t find any RIA 2011 specific reviews on this. Haven’t shot it yet but the fit and finish look excellent. As a Wilson combat component should be. Buy with confidence if you’ve got the Rock Island Tac Ultra 9mm 2011. Cheers JB

Minor Blemish

by JL67, Verified Owner from NY, United States Written on November 8, 2025
The Bushing Compensator did need to be fitted, I figured as much from all the research that I did. I put it on a Dan Wesson Pointman Major .45 about 1 hour to fit it. Looks great on the gun. I went with the stainless steel. My D.Wesson is blued with SS acsents . I would have given a higher rating but the compensator had black marks on both flat sides. I had to polish it , took 20 more minutes but the marks did come out.I expected a little better Quality control from Wilson Combat. No fault of Optic Planet. Have not tried it out yet but will soon.
Pros:
  • Looks great
  • easy to install, exactly as advertised
Cons:
  • Minor Blems
  • Finish could be better

Not for a Sig 1911

by Hosh, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on October 26, 2025
This item, I am sure, is great for most 1911s. However, this will not fit a SIG 1911 XR Full. The bushing is too thick to fit between the barrel and the slide.

Does not fit

by Bushing, Verified Owner from MN, United States Written on October 21, 2025
The bushing of this brake is too thick to fit between the slide and the barrel of a SIG 1911 XR. This is the only reason I returned this item. It is very disappointing I didn't even get to try it.

Paperweight

by Dan, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on January 4, 2025
I have 5 1911 government pistols. This bushing comp is so oversized, there is no chance of it fitting with " minor" fitment. I would have to have it machined, then refinished costing me triple or more the cost I anticipated. The diameter is so large, I would assume that it snuck by quality control (if wilson has such a thing) and made it to my mailbox for $80. Second time I've been less than impressed by Wilson. Never again.

  • Paperweight

Doesn't fit kimber, colt, or Dan Wesson

by Dan, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on December 31, 2024
Doesn't fit any of the 4 government 1911s I own. It's diameter is far too big for "minor fitting." It would need to be remachined and refinished making it a giant waste if money. 2nd time I've gotten garbage wilson combat products. Never again.

  • None

Wilson Combat Bushing Compensator

by Hotrox54, from OR, United States Written on September 26, 2023
It was a very snug fit as you would expect. I haven’t had a chance to take it to the range yet to see if it indeed reduces muzzle flip. Even a little would be nice. It appears to be a well machined product and from the research I did of other cheaper brands, the placement of the porting of the Wilson Combat model would be the most effective and the primary reason I chose it.
Pros:
  • Fit and finish. Ease of installation.
Cons:
  • A little pricey
Best Used for:
  • Reduction of muzzle rise

You might want to pre-measure

by Frankie4fingers, Verified Owner from CO, United States Written on April 11, 2022
While I realize that the tolerance across all makes of 1911 are different the install might require modification of the slide or the compensator or both. I wasn't willing to do that for simple cosmetics. I was way disappointed. This isn't truly a "drop in" product.
Pros:
  • Looks real cool
Cons:
  • The box is where it looked cool from.
Best Used for:
  • In my case, nothing.

Fits on a Kimber and does its job

by nl, from OK, United States Written on March 8, 2021
Put this on a Kimber. A bit tight but not too tight. Put it on your slide a twist it to check for fit before assembling the first time, but outside of that, it does it’s job. There is a video on Wilson’s website showing it being put together and they do it wit the spring in place before putting the slide back on the frame and that is a good choice.
