Poor quality

by jc, Verified Owner from VA, United States Written on June 28, 2024
Guide rod is not smooth as you would expect, rough and bumpy. While I don't think it will cause any issue mechanically, you get a nice scraping sound of the spring on the guide rod. A standard Beretta plastic and metal guide rod both feel smooth and are virtually silent once lubed. Perhaps after a 10,000 rounds the roughness of the guide rod will smooth out from the scraping.

Guide rod diameter is also much thinner than a stock rod which visually looks odd and I if I used my pistol in adverse conditions I would be worried about dirt getting into the end.

All downsides to this product over a stock with the only plus a supposed possible spring life increase...

The idea is good

by ThatGuy, Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on March 22, 2023
This piece wore out in 200 rounds of basic training ammo. The rubber does make a noticeable difference when shooting in how the recoil feels softer. Could just be my pistol that recoils a little too hard. Good idea though.

Wilson Combat shock buffer

by ARPOWDERMAN, Verified Owner from KS, United States Written on January 13, 2021
The Wilson Combat shok - buffers are a little expensive for a little peace of palamer plastic but if you're cracking pretty hot loads they will keep the slide from battering your frame and possibly causing serious damage to your pistol.
Pros:
  • Cheap insurance
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • hot loads

WC Shok-Buff

by Crkt purchaser, Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on August 1, 2020
These are a perfect complement to any beretta 92fs. They fit great and make sense. You don't even know that it is there. Saves frame, not additional weight or bulk. I purchased spares as you can never have enough of these.

Great if they fit

by EKW, from CA, United States Written on April 17, 2020
They work great to reduce frame/slide battering if they fit, as they do in my Delta Elite 10mm with the Wilson guide rod and spring. They arr a bit thick in combination with the slightly thicker guide rod flange on my Kimber 45 and prevent the slide catch from engaging on the last shot. I would give them 5 stars if they were slightly thinner to be a universal fit with all guide rods.
