Barrel Slips by Clint, January 22, 2018
I noticed in other reviews users had trouble with the barrels slipping, turning in the block. I had similar trouble trying to clock a compensator on an AR-15 barrel. I only needed a couple more degrees but the barrel kept turning in the block.

This product should be $15. And it works better if you strip out the plastic and just clamp the barrel with the aluminum. Its unfortunate that they can charge this much for this little effort of a product.

In the past, Imhad trouble holding an AR barrel while torquing a flash hider against the crush washer. I tried many methods, but none were really satisfactory, and some marred the barrel. This block solved the problem.

The Wheeler Engineering Universal Barrel Clamp 672286 was built to be precision extruded from aircraft grade aluminum and bonded with non-marring urethane. The urethane coating of the Wheeler Universal Barrel Clamp is specially designed to provide a protective layer for the barrel's finish while providing extraordinary gripping abilities. Three different barrel openings of .85", .66" and .53" will accommodate anything from an AR pencil barrel up to a bull barrel. When inserted in a vise the urethane coating on the Wheeler Engineering Universal Barrel Clamp squeezes down tightly on the barrel to fully secure it for the forces needed for installation/ removal.image
