Will work well
The advantage this block has it that it is a bit shorter then others and will allow me to remove the flash hider on my Ruger SR 7.62. The Piston needs to be removed but I wont have to remove the all the rest of the had card and the like to get the block to fit around the barrel.

Barrel Slips
I noticed in other reviews users had trouble with the barrels slipping, turning in the block. I had similar trouble trying to clock a compensator on an AR-15 barrel. I only needed a couple more degrees but the barrel kept turning in the block.
ok to hold but not to torque
This product should be $15. And it works better if you strip out the plastic and just clamp the barrel with the aluminum. Its unfortunate that they can charge this much for this little effort of a product.

Makes muzzle device installation a breeze
In the past, Imhad trouble holding an AR barrel while torquing a flash hider against the crush washer. I tried many methods, but none were really satisfactory, and some marred the barrel. This block solved the problem.
Pros:
- Works with various barrel diameters
Cons:
- None

Not worth it
Not worth the price. You cannot get enough friction in the silly plastic to a snug barrel. Barrels just spin & spin no matter how hard you clamp it. Maybe it's good just to hold Savage barrels but apply meaningful force and it will not hold worth beans.
Pros:
- None
Cons:
- Slips off constantly
Best Used for:
- scrap

Good barrel clamp for what it is
Bought this to install muzzle comp on my bolt gun for mounting suppressors. This does hold the barrel fixed with quite some force, but eventually it will budge and the barrel will start slipping. But honestly there ain't better options out there for mounting muzzle device on a hunting rifle, so this is good for what it is. Just apply rocksett on your muzzle threads and it's good.

good barrell vise
Easy to use jst match to barrell. Need a large bench vise to clamp the vise left no marks on the barrell and held it tight. Another good Wheeler product that works. It is made of metal and not cheap plastic like other vise blocks which prevents the possibility of the block breaking or warping when applying torque to the barrel. There is enough grip area on the block for most vises to hold it.

Perfect for re-barreling my savage
I used this to replace the barrel on my second savage build. I wish i would have had it on the first build. No it isn't as good as the wheeler version, but it does the job. If you are doing enough of them that you need something better rock it, but this is good for the small amount of barrel swapping i do. i like that is easily fitted into my vise.

Just what I needed for my bench.
Used it to time the barrel on my FAL. Added one wrap of lead flashing to make up for the barrel taper (a common practice) and it worked perfectly. I was skeptical about the neoprene liners but they held up just fine.

Fit and finish requires improvements
My excitement to receive the barrel clamp fadded as I opened the packaging to find a scuffed up dented block of aluminum. I am sure the barrel clamp worked fine, but I had to send it back for a replacement. I wasn't going to pay $40 plus for the quality, or lack there of, that I received. I hope to receive a new and less used and/or damaged clamp in the near future.
