Nice muzzle device

Written on Jul 14, 2026

Wow, what a nice muzzle device. The design looks stronger to me than the 3- or 4-tine flash hiders , since it in basically a 2-tine. It’s nice and long, but not too long, and not significantly heavier than the a2-like extended flash hiders.

Adds options for sling attachment

Written on Jun 18, 2026

I think equipment should be flexible rather than locked into one configuration. I don’t use a rear sling swivel at the moment, but I like having the option for some future contingency. And Bravo makes solid stuff.

Prone shooting aid

Written on Jun 07, 2026

Like many older folks, I have a problem being limber enough to make a really low prone shooting position. I need to get my shoulders up a little higher to relieve neck strain. A high bipod is a help here.

The legs feel solid when installed, and the extra height make the position more comfortable.

Bravo quality

Written on Jun 06, 2026

Bravo is known for quality control, and this is important for parts involving the action stroke. This receiver extension has grey dry lube, just like the Colt’s. I like to pair this with the Bravo end plate.

Continue building

Written on May 30, 2026

I’m pretty careful, but once in a while parts fly away. A lot of the time they go to the most cluttered part of the room, or behind something heavy I just want to continue with my build. So a small collection of easily lost parts can keep the momentum going.

Amazingly crisp

This trigger just takes a few seconds to install. The trigger hex key is included, all you need is something to loosen the grip screw.

The roller bearing makes for an incredibly crisp bread. I can’t feel any creep whatsoever.

Compact mag

Written on Apr 28, 2026

I like the mags that don’t stick out much from the mag well in the stock. This protects the mag against some blows which might occur when assuming a supported position.

I put durability against rough handling first with my rifles.

Easier extraction

Written on Feb 15, 2026

This heavier buffer delays bolt unlocking by a small period of time, which allows the fired brass extra time to cool a bit, and also to spring back from its expanded state. Both of these factors help the brass disengage from the chamber wall, easing extraction.

Handy Block

Written on Feb 10, 2026

I have a lower resting in this block as I write. It’s quite hard and can resist the hammer hits necessary to drive pins.

It has a nice feature that it will hold the forward assist forward the right amount as you drive the pin.

No overinsertion

Written on Feb 05, 2026

Some detachable magazine conversions for bolt actions allow the magazine to be pushed up too far. For example, if the magazine is resting on a barricade, it can be pushed up far enough to interfere with the bolt movement.

The front lip on this magazine prevents this.

Plus this mag is built like a tank.
