I see the newer release model has a resolution of 45-54 lpm as opposed to this ones 40-45 lpm. If I was going to use a 3x magnification lense I'd want a higher base resolution since resolution would go down with magnification.

Can't beat the quality for the price. I think best bang for your buck that is out there. My friend had some NVG's that were 3 times the price and quite frankly they were pretty darn close to identical. Very pleased with the purchase.

Looks good out in the yard, but had a full moon,so there was plenty of ancient light. Looking forward to getting them out in the field. They are not exactly like the military ones but seem like a goos product.
