You can mount theATN ThOR-HD 4.5-18x50mm Thermal Imaging Riflescope to a Remington 783 but you would want to get a one piece picantinny rail mount. You can find the one piece base here:

The ATN ThOR-HD 4.5-18x50mm Thermal Imaging Riflescope has no non thermal display, however you can still use a thermal imaging scope during the day since it works by detecting heat signatures.
