Overall an improvement over standard issue shoulder straps, but still lacking. First, the shoulder straps are not on par with modern North Face, Kelty, etc type packs. Second, the adjustments constantly slide because they are not the spring loaded ...

These Straps update the comfort of your ALICE frame to that of a modern pack. If your load is more the 30lbs. The difference is staggering! They cost some bucks, but they are worth the price for the comfort. Pros: Padded! What the straps should be.....

BlackHawk's enhanced ALICE Ruck Straps are super comfortable and efficient. They are made with 1000 Denier Nytaneon and packed with .5" closed cell foam. They attach to any standard ALICE Pack frame in seconds and have "Quick Ditch" release system. Welded and anodized metal "D" rings allow for carbiner, sling or hydration system tube routing. For additional performance and comfort we have provided a fully adjustable and removable sternum strap.
