Product Info for C.A.M.P. Skimo Pure Nanotech Anti-Balling Plates
The Skimo Pure Nanotech Anti-Balling plates are the perfect protection for walking on unconsolidated snow or glaciated terrain. The plate design and rounded horns increase stability in all conditions and prevent the snow from washing away at your feet while you walk. The highly adhesive Nanocomp (nano-composite) surface of the plate gives it excellent stickiness and the do not absorb water. This means you can walk or ski on wet rock or snow easily without worrying about the plates sliding around. The mounting plate is quick and easy to change and you can use the same crampon with two different toe welts. For best results, use with a crampon with a V-shaped toe bar. The toe welt needs to be replaced with a new one. The nanotech surface of the plate will help with adhesion and wear but it is not a sure thing. You will want to walk with a bionic heel pad or a crampon with a more aggressive point shape. If you do not have a special crampon with a nanocomposite surface, you should use one of the standard crampon plates and add the nanocomposite one at the bottom of your toes.
