I have an Sig 226 X5 Legion. Will I need this plate to mount an EPS Carry? Thx. Expert Answer

No, you will not need this plate. This plate converts your footprint to the Trijicon RMR footprint. The P226 X5 Legion comes from the factory optic cut for optics that use the Deltapoint Pro footprint. The EPS Carry shares that same footprint and would not require an adapter plate. However, the EPS Carry is the micro sized version designed for slimline pistols. This means, while it will fit your P226, there will be excess room on each side of the optic cut. I would recommend using the larger EPS model (not the carry version). The larger EPS model will fill up your entire optic cut and has a larger window. This is the perfect way to go went mounting a Trijicon or Holosun optic on a Sig P226 or P229 with a factory optics cut slide. Since the slide is cut for a slightly larger Sig optic, a Trijicon SRO or RMR isn't a "glove" fit on the factory optics cut...

Plate does not made to tight enough tolerance to snugly take up the space between the front edge of the optic cut and the front of the optic itself. Needs tighter tolerances.

Simple as it gets. Perfect fit and simple installation of a Holoson 507C on my pro-cut P226 slide. If you're looking to add an RMR footprint optic to your P226 than this is definitely what you want to use.
