My 10" garage sale reflector has had a rough life. You can eyeball the collimation and get it pretty close. This gizmo will get it right on fast. Read the directions! Pros: inexpensive Cons: Inexpensive!

The tool fits very loosely in the focuser to begin with so I don't trust it's accuracy. The bottom is recessed to make the fit even looser and it needs to be pulled almost all the way out to use as a sight tube in my XT10, verdict- useless as a sight...

The Celestron Newtonian reflector collimating tool 94182 is a combination of a sight tube and a Cheshire tool in a single unit. It has the precisely centered sighting hole and crosshairs of a sight tube, plus the cutout in the side of the tube containing the very precise 45° angle reflecting surface of a Cheshire tool. As it is a combination tool, it is less expensive than buying a separate sight tube and Cheshire tool.image

Celestron Cheshire Collimation Eyepiece is ideal for precise collimation of Newtonians and helpful for aligning Schmidt-Cassegrains. This special eyepiece fits into 1 1/4" focusers or diagonals. Alignment is easy using the small opening on one end and thin cross hairs at the other end. Specialty Collimation Eyepiece is more accurate than the simple Collimation Tool.
