I'm shooting an AR-15, 5.56. Can't imagine I'll shoot further than 100 yards. Which do you recommend... the 1-6 or 2.5-10? Expert Answer

I'd personally recommend the 1-6x as it is the most well rounded, but you could always pair the 2.5-10x with a red dot for even more functionality. It really depends on what your plan is for the rifle. But if its meant to be a do-all, then I'd personally prefer the 1-6x24 because of its capabilities at the 1x, "no magnification" setting.

When you zero the rifle and your battery dies. How does the etched reticle hold the zero or how does that work? Expert Answer

The EOTech Vudu 1-6x24 FFP Precision Rifle Scope reticle is etched into the glass so it can be used even without a battery or illumination. So when you zero the rifle you will be manually adjusting the reticle position to line up with your point of impact. The battery does not effect the reticle adjustment.
