The Evolution Gun Works Mounting System will ensure your sight fits the weapon's dovetail in nearly any position. However, one thing to keep in mind is that these Red Dot Sight Mounts by Evolution Gun Works should only be installed by a qualified gunsmith. You can never go back. The Evolution Gun Works Leupold Delta Point Pro Mount For S&W 1911 Fixed uses a dovetail system, so you'll need to remove your current rear sight before the mount will fit. However, you can put on the mount and then put your current sight back on - the Evolution Gun Works Dovetail Mount For Leupold Delta Point Pro, Jpoint, Redfield Accelerator, Optima or Holosun 407K/507K onto this dovetail - but only after removing the rear pins on the mount. Fortunately, this dovetail is a little more complicated than it may appear at first glance. But, getting your sight mounted and looking good isn't hard at all.
