Will the Excalibur crossbow work with a cranking system like the Barnett crank or does it have it's own version of the crank to engage?

No, you will need to purchase one of the several cranks excalibur makes. The c2 is the older version, works fine, but clicks when you crank it with the ratchet. The new version is silent, but twice the price. Both work fine, I've never had to reshoot using my bulldog 400. You either hit, or they're gone, you know how it goes. Deadly accurate.

Great product! Lifetime warranty and after using this crossbow I’m sure I’ll never have to use it!!! If you want a crossbow to hunt big have that is accurate lite and easy to maintain this is for you.
