The minimum diameter for the inside of your handguard will be more dependent on the gas block you choose than the barrel since the gas block will be the largest diameter item that the handguard has to cover. For instance, when paired with our .875" diameter gas block you would need a handguard with an inner diameter of at least 1.100" as well as a channel along the top for the gas tube and it's housing on the gas block. Larger gas blocks may require a larger inside diameter. Fortunately, due to the nature of the DPMS Gen 1/LR-308 design, most compatible handguards will have an ID greater then 1.1" so you should not have issue fitting one over this barrel.
Worth the money. Only wish is that id waited for the 12in to come back into stock. Only warning I have is 285gr 8.6 will go super out of this, atleast my lot number did.

With barrels employing an impressive 1:3 twist rate, 8.6 BLK channels rotational energy to increase energy on-target. As with all Faxon Barrels, these 8.6 BLK barrels are machined from raw bar stock in our greater Cincinnati Facility. Faxon 8.6 BLK barrels are fully stress-relieved, air-gauge tested, Magnetic Particle Inspected, and 11-degree target crowned to ensure superior accuracy. Constructed of 4150 CMV, each barrel goes through a battery of tests at each operation until finished in Nitride and final inspected.
