The use of fire and briar pits as camp sites and fireplaces pre-date the existence of fire itself. The tools that were used to clear the sites was anything but simple. The name of the camp fire axe goes back to the early American frontiers and the use of axes to cut and shape the kindling that would become fireplaces. The Tomahawk has a 3" cold forged, hand satin polished, carbon steel blade with a grooved and sanded face. The handle is crafted from full grain leather and it includes a rough hewn spike with a steel keeper. Handles also feature embossed brass bolsters with the Early American Tomahawk logo. This piece of history has a modern-day streamlined version of a fire implement, versatile in almost any situation and easy to find in any well stocked camp or garage.
