Green illumination is green illumination . Meaning it has green illuminated background with white or black heat marks like people or animals etc it has nothing to do with the reticle
The red dot is zeroed first with standard flat turrets. At that point, the thermal digital reticle is aligned with it while the thermal is at 1x zoom. Once the process is complete, you can use either independently and it will have the same point of impact. It is a simple process and works in the same way as most other digital optics.
