Hornady FTX Handgun 45 Caliber .452 200 GR 50 Box - Bullets are designed with a soft tip to initiate immediate expansion and also has a feature to prevent deformation in the magazine tubular feeding system of a lever action rifle. As with all tipped bullets, care should be taken to avoid undue strain on the system as you load and reload. Typical polymer tips can break apart or separate over time, compromising the hold on the bullet. This, in turn, can expose the ogive or "honeycomb" portion of the bullet to tarnish or corrosion. The FTX bullet features a rigid copper-alloy jacket combined with an InterLock ring that keeps the core and jacket locked together, retains weight, and allows the projectile to penetrate deeper and travel faster. Assembled, the FTX follows strict specifications that ensure the very best performance. Each FTX is machined to tight specifications, and is, by design, the ultimate all-rounder. Manufactured to the tightest tolerances, with the highest quality materials. One-piece, high antimony lead core of the FTX is mechanically locked to the jacket.
