Although September 2021 was a slow month for new gun products, what did surface will surely excite shooters and hunters alike. The highlights include high-end optics listed at affordable price points and an upgrade for one of America’s most popular pistols.
Holosun HE507C-X2-ACSS Pistol Sight
The new Holosun HE507C green dot sight has a lot of value for the price. Retailing for around $350, the pistol green dot is loaded with features like a Multi-Reticle System, Solar Failsafe, and Shake Awake technology. Best of all, the HE507C is equipped with the intuitive ACSS Vulcan reticle. The patent pending design provides a 10 MOA center chevron wrapped in a circle, which allows you to immediately center on your target.
Plus, Holosun constructed the HE507C out of durable 7075-T6 aluminum, gave it an anodized black finish, and fully multi-coated glass. Powered by six CR1632 batteries, the green dot optic is capable of running for up to 50,000 hours. The 16-ounce design will mount to pistols, rifles, and shotguns.
JCS Weapon Designs G19 Bonesaw Slide
If you ask any gun seller, they’ll tell you the Glock 19 is one of the most -- if not the most -- popular pistols today, so it makes sense that JCS Weapon Designs makes an assortment of G19 Bonesaw Slides. Their custom slide is lighter than factory stock and offers a tighter fit as well. Plus, they just look cool.
The JCS G19 Bonesaw Slide is constructed from 416R stainless steel and treated to a 40-42 HRC hardness. The creme-de-la-creme, though, is that the design is cut for an RMR optic. The JCS Bonesaw Slide is available in a variety of colors including stainless, OD green, graphite black, multicam and more. The design will fit any Glock 19 Gen 3 design, Gen 4 with an adapter, or Polymer 80 frame.
ATN OTS-XLT 2-8x Thermal Viewer
The new ATN OTS-XLT 2-8x Thermal Viewer is game changing and not just because of what it can do. Listed in the $600 range, the OTS-XLT is an affordable IR monocular. That means for about six bills, you can greatly expand your vantage point. The thermal imaging device will allow you to detect anything radiating heat in lowlight or no light conditions.
Plus, the ATN OTS-XLT is loaded with features like recording capabilities, eight gigs of storage, and 10 hours of battery life. The compact and ergonomic design has simple controls that allow you to switch between black hot, white hot, and color modes. As a rangefinder, the viewer can detect targets out to 263 yards.
Holosun Advanced Enclosed Micro 2 MOA Red Dot Sight
The Holosun Advanced Enclosed Micro is a compact and lightweight red dot sight. The design doubles the size of the glass surface area, so the AEMS offers a larger field of view than a standard 20mm micro option. Plus, the Holosun AEMS 2 MOA Red Dot Sight features a durable 7075-aluminum housing, 50,000 hours of battery life, and of course, innovations like Holosun’s Solar Failsafe and Shake Awake technologies.
