"g" is the unit given to gravity, which is acceleration (feet per second squared in imperial units). It is "g-force", a term you probably have heard before. Example is that heavy feeling (pressing back in your seat) when you accelerate a car rapidly. For this thermal scope, it is how much acceleration it can handle. A 6 pound AR-15 shooting a 55gr 5.56 out of a 16" barrel produces a little less than 300g's recoil. I haven't stated all the variables used in this calculation for simplicity. So this scope can withstand 4 times the amount of g's the example AR-15 can produce. Hope this helps.
It has a standard RMR footprint for pistol, so you would need to add an RMR plate to your rifle if drilled for one. Most cases shooters with a LPVO use an angled scope mount which has the various footprints drillled in for red dot for close up work.
Hi is by far the best mini thermal available in the market! I'm able to detect rabbits at 80 yards and further. Resolution is very good for its size. It comes with two batteries in the box and have a decent runtime!

Put 40 rounds down range have it sitting on top of a cva 14 " scout pistol chamber in 350 legend. In a bog pod with arca ball set i can get 2 inch group with factory load at 50 yrds and little over a 1 with hand loads. Not to bad for this ...
