Is this too much gas block for a AR10 .308 win ?

This is not too much gas block for an AR-10 however there are design flaws that may render it unusable for your application. According to JP Enterprises you will need to purchase a tap, remove all screws then re-tap the gas screw hole with the gas tube inserted. This process may or may not work to make the gas block perform properly depending upon the tolerances your new gas block was machined to. The quality control on this block is poor and JP will not stand behind this product. Just remember- BEFORE YOU PURCHASE- that this gas block will not work under any circumstances on any application without first modifying it with the use of a tap that you must purchase additionally according to JP Enterprises.

Purchased on 7/16/21. This .936 adjustable gas block with detent was defective in either design or craftsmanship through the machine process. The gas tube and roll pin holes were machined too low causing a misfit and rendered the gas block unusable. ...

The JPGS-8D is our minimized large bore design intended to mount underneath many hand guard models on the market. Its two-piece design allows for easier installations even on barrels with pin-and-weld muzzle treatments.image

This model features our new click-adjustable detent system for precise adjustments and secure retention of your gas screw. Never lose you gas setting or screw.

Package includes gas block, attachment hardware, adjustment set screw, detent mechanism hardware (pre-installed), roll pin for gas tube installation, wrenches and instruction sheet.

Installation of this has block requires tapping the adjustment screw hole. We offer a suitable 6-32 bottoming tap if you do not have one ready to hand.
